  • I don't want to post this, but I feel I must... it ain't pretty.

This is me, TODAY, January 15th, 2009. Day 13 of induction, and down 10 pounds. The beard is TEMPORARY.... It is a "playoff beard", in support of my Philadelphia Eagles, who are hopefully headed to the Super Bowl. I'll shave it as soon as they lose, or after they win the Super Bowl, whichever comes first.

I really don't want to post this but I feel like I must "keep it real". Notice, if you can, the big red vertical scar on my chest.... a 6 Tuple Bypass scar.

    sigh... here it is:

I'm a father of twin daughters, whose main goal in life is to set a positive example for them.

Way to step up to the plate! Posting pictures helps people not only to feel more accountable, which forces you to stick with it, but also it's a great feeling of release.

I wish you success on your journey and can't wait to see your after pics.

I think its great what you are doing not only for your daughters but for yourself. You set a good example of someone who seems dedicated to making this work and that is very encouraging to me and probably many others!

I am eager to see the after!!!!

        Best wishes!

Now you've 'come out' I am sure you'll be much more motivated to stick to your induction and continue to shed those unwanted pounds. I think you have been really brave, I whimped out of putting my face in my photos! hehe

I'd recommend doing something similar to me and setting goals in divisions of 10 pounds and taking photos, chest and waist measurements when you reach each goal. It is quite motivating that way I find.

Keep up the good work, 10lbs lost is a great start!

Get determined and stay there. When I found determination (and it wasn't a big revelation I just realized one day that nothing was going to stop me) I was set free. It isn't hard work and I don't feel left out, it is a gift. I am so excited for you and the choice you have made for those sweet girls.
