Thank you jigglypuff, cammianne, momneli & fontrella, you're encouraging words are greatly appreciated and very timely!!!!! Thank you for stopping in and sharing in my journey with me. It will be a life time journey for me and one in which I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to take. Not only have I lost most of my weight but I have also been able to heal from certain things that have taken place in life and I have learned an incredible amount along the way.

Congratulations on taking this journey to great health as well. I know that together we will all make it. Keep going strong, celebrate the victories no matter how small or great you believe them to be (celebrating those victories are very important in our journey along the way) and never, ever give up....giving up doesn't work Always press on, you deserve it and you will accomplish your goals as long as you put the effort into it.

I look forward to getting to know each of you and hearing all about how your journey progresses. This July 19th coming up in the summer will be my 2nd year Atkins anniversary. I have for the most part taken this journey day by day, however, in the last six months when I've come closer to goal I got a little crazy and became too focused on the goal which didn't help me one bit and because of it I lost some ground...sort of like the example of the runner who's running a race and is doing great till they start looking back to see how far the next runner is from them and begins to lose ground because they use up their energy looking back instead of pressing forward and staying focused in what they are doing in the moment. I am re-focused and doing great again....the most important thing for me is to continue to press on. I am very close to goal but I am not obsessed with it anymore. I will get there when the time is right. Instead, I am re-focused on doing what I need to do daily to make each and every day a successful one! I encourage you to do the same thing....don't get wrapped up or caught up with the end result...you know all to well where you would like to be, no need for that reminder to haunt or consume you, instead pace yourself and focus each day on what you need to accomplish in order to make it a successful day and if for some reason one messes up....just keep going! Learn from it and move forward.

I wish each and every one of you great happiness, joy and peace.

Keep in touch when you are able and thank you again for caring.

    Hugs,
    Sarina

Wow! Like so many before me have said, just.............Wow!!! I feel very unoriginal, but your pics truly are an inspiration. I joined this board after looking at your pictures. I think if I feel any urge to give up (I've almost completed week 3), I'll just come back here and look at your pictures.

I now regret that I haven't taken any pictures yet, but since I've only lost 8.1 lbs. (don't actually mean ONLY, but you get it), it's not too late to start taking those pictures now! I think sometimes when you're losing weight, it's hard to see it in yourself. The pictures are the proof!

Anyway, nice to "meet" you! I think I'll look at some of your posts, maybe get some other ideas/inspiration!!

    Again, WOW!!!!

Sarina D, you are an inspiration to all of us, especially me. I have been heavy my entire life and have tried many diet plans will lose but after a while I will pick it back up plus more.

I have tried Atkins before but couldn't stick with the plan at the time. I am starting back this weekend since I will have more time to prepare myself. I do have a lot to lose just like you did and you really touched my heart and motivated me to keep going and I know this time I will succeed. I had given up trying to lose weight months ago but decided after the holidays I will seek God for help and wisdom on what to do to be healthy. I joined this website a long time ago and forgot about this site. I was searching low carb online and came across this site again.
I am glad I read your post and saw your inspiring pictures.

    Thanks again

it's so amazing and fantastic to see someone overcome such a dramatic weightloss on their own instead of using supplements/gastic bypass etc etc.

reading this thread has truly really put this woe into perspective for me that it is a WOE, not a diet and that the weight will come off eventually if you stick to it.

so often i am so impatient with my body and tend to forget how long it took me to get to this weight, so why would it magically melt off. lol

thank you for sharing your story with us, and for being so attentive to everyone who posts!!!
    Hi Lannerjarv,

Thank you for stopping by and for all your lovely comments and support. I appreciate it very much.

This way of eating truly does work if one makes it part of their life...it's not something to be used for a short period of time in hopes that one day one can start eating the way they use to and maintain all that they have achieved....it won't happen. It is a change of lifestyle and mind set...and a very satisfying one at that.

Having said that, if one does slip along the way....the most important thing to do is keep going! Don't ever give up...giving up leads to heartbreak, frustration and never being able to achieve the healthy lifestyle and fitness level one will achieve if they just get back on the horse and keep going.

I can appreciate what you discussed above regarding being impatient with yourself....losing the weight is part of the battle...the other half of the battle is dealing with ourselves and our tendencies to be impatient and want results quicker then we might achieve them. Consistency in eating and exercising, support from others and enjoying the journey along the way and celebrating each and every loss...even if it simply a few ounces is what keeps me going. I have to admit, there was one thing I lacked up till about six to eight months ago and that was celebrating my successes and learning to enjoy what I have achieved. I was too focused on the goal....not to say being focused on the goal is a bad thing, it's very important...but so is enjoying what one has accomplished.

So, enjoy your journey, learn from my mistakes (being too impatient and stuck on the end result...missing out on what was happening in the moment along the way) and lets do this together!

I noticed you are from BC...so am I! What part are you from if you don't mind me asking?

Keep in touch when you're able.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop in and say hello and share in my weight loss journey. It's a pleasure to meet you!

    All the best,
    Sarina
