                    Thank you everyone for your lovely posts of encouragement! I'm sorry for my tardy response, I haven't really been able to get online and post. My father was in the hospital on the weekend and through the week (I've been at the hospital each day with him) up until yesterday when he was discharged and to top things off I haven't been very well myself.

                    April 1, 2008 - 387 lbs. (This is when I initially started to lose weight…but was not on Atkins at this point)
                    Atkins start weight – 347 lbs. (July 19, 2008 – began Atkins)
                    1st major goal met -----100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.
                    2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
                    Current weight – 232 lbs.
                    Goal weight - 150 – 160

                            hii, im new to the atkins and this site
                            id just like to say, you look amazing! its such a dramatic change and you looks so good!
                            anyway, ive been on the atkins for 8 days now and i just wonderd what your typical diet was?
                            i weight 175lb and im 5ft 1"
                            for the past few days ive generaly had

                            1 egg, 2 sausages and 2 rashes of bacon for breakfast

                            1 beef burger and cheese for dinner, sometimes tuna salad and mayo

                            2 boiled eggs with turkey for tea, or a tuna salad
                            plus, 2ltrs of water a day

                            i havent lost anything, and im worried i might be doing it wrong.
                            plus, im not sure ive started ketosis..

                              Hi Amy,

                              It's really good to meet you, thanks for stopping by and thank you for the compliments!!!!

                              I would say you're really lacking in the veggie department! You gotta add veggies to your daily intake (VERY important) and I would say up the fat in your meals as well. I drizzle olive oil on eggs in the morning, or if I have salad at lunch it's been drizzled with olive oil. At dinner if I have steak, I drizzle it with olive oil as well as the veggies I'm eating and salad.

                              I would say those are the only thing I think you're missing.

                              Just a quick question....have you read the book? It's really important that you do if you haven't already. I made the mistake many years ago making "my own" version up and never stuck to it after a month. This time around, I made sure I CAREFULLY read the book from cover to cover and followed it the way it's suppose to be done...I also kept it close by and referred to it whenever I needed to. Do yourself a favor and dive into the book and read it carefully. This way of eating will only work if you do exactly what it advises.

                              Hang in there Amy, add veggies to your daily intake like Dr. Atkins has advised and add some form of exercise into your daily routine. Start with walking, it's an EXCELLENT form of exercise, it's easy, you don't need special equipment nor do you have to sign up at a gym to do it!
