  • This is Why, This is Why, This is Why I'm NOT (skinny)!

    Here is my BEFORE picture. My mom ( <3) took this picture on my first day of HS (Sept. '0. It is of me, and my two brothers (they are both twins and 8 months younger than me, yet we are all still in the same grade lol). This picture was my wake up call. Even though I'm dreading it, here is my picture (please keep all terrified screams to yourself lol)..... UGH.

      Thanks for the support! I've lost 21 lbs since this picture. I'm sooo happy I found this diet and this board (with all the amazing people here)

            No screams from this direction either!! If it makes you feel any better at all, you do not look like you could possibly weigh what your start weight says! You look like you weighed LESS!! AND...look at those skinny little ankles. I am jealous. I have chunky ankles NO MATTER WHAT MY WEIGHT! I hate that!! You looked great then, even better now and you'll look like a completely different person SOON! Stick with it, girl! It's worth everything you give it!

              Looks like you are headed for one-derland! Great job so far Ashley! My son at college is doing this WOE too. He finally decided he had enough of being fat! He has lost 50 pounds so far. Youth has its advantage--he loses twice as fast (or more) than I! I bet by summer you will have some pretty good "In Progress" photos to post!

                Most of us aren't skinny and are on this board because of high fructose corn syrup. It's a lot cheaper than sugar and happens to be in almost every single processed food item. But what the fat free lable doesn't say is that high fructose corn syrup turns into fat immediately. And people wonder why American's are so fat.

                    I know that when you are 15 that picture probably looks horrible (to you), but to the rest of us, you look beautiful all the same. Few of us like to see pictures of ourselves, no matter what we weigh. You don't even look nearly as heavy as your weight suggests. I am so proud that you have lost 21 pounds! Your Mama is gonna have to keep you locked in a closet by the time you are 16!

                          Great job on the weight loss! My daughter is 15 also and I have just begun Atkins myself for the 2nd time. I am trying to get her to do it... I will show her your post and I am sure she will get inspiration from you!! Now is the best time in your life to get this under control once and for all! Wish I knew about Atkins when I was 15!! Keep Goin' Girl!

                              Ashley I wanted to tell you my sophmore year I was overweight, had just broke up with my boyfriend and during the summer decided I needed to do something about the way I looked. I went on some sort of diet and lost 30 pounds - looked and felt wonderful and kept it off until I got pregnant a few years later.

                              I hope you can get your weight under control now and keep it there because the older you get the harder it is to loose. You are doing so well now and you are going to get to your goal, just have patience and remember you didn't gain this weight overnight so in order to get it to stay off you have to eat right, exercise and drink your water. I'm proud of you drinking water everyday because that is one of the most important things you can do to help your body while you are loosing weight.

                              Keep moving forward, you are doing good!
