  • This is for my husband! 70+ lost

Hi! I am posting this for my husband. He is currently at AIT at Fort Sam Houston training to be a Mental Health Specialist. Well my husband had wanted to join the Army for years, but I was scared for him. Finally I said yes I will stand behind you! He went to the recruiters office last year in June and the recruiter said he had to lose weight.

My husband was 317 lbs. Even at 6'4" that is overweight. My husband entered the delayed entry program with a ship off date of January 12. So he had 7 months to get into ship off status.

Well at first my husband was hating Atkins. But when the weight started to drop off, he changed his tune. By November my husband was at 267 lbs. He joined the Army! By the time my husband left for Basic Training he weighed 254 lbs. That made my husbands total weight loss before leaving for Basic 63 lbs.

Now he weighs 238 lbs and is still losing. He's not on Atkins anymore because he eats carbs, but that will change once we move to his first duty station and I can cook for him again. Hee hee, I know a long post, but finally here is his before and after shot!

Here is his after! This is graduation from boot camp! I am so proud of him!

    Sorry they are so big!

I know, I just wish I had stuck to it when he left. He was dropping 10 lbs a month on average. In the first two he lost the most, but it was a steady 8-12 lbs a month. I'm jealous of men lol.

Yes! I showed some of my co-workers and they said he looked 10 years younger. I know he'd love to hear that.

He'll be glad to hear it. He'll probably puff out his chest though.
