Hi,
I just joined this forum, so I have to throw my 2.5 cents in! First of all, you already have a great figure to start with, IMHO, so you will look even better (i.e. healthier) once you've reached your goal. You are very proportional which is a great start!
I have been practicing Atkins since way back in 2000. I was tired of being hungry all the time and tired (carbo overload!). I had had the New Diet Revolution book for a year and never really read the whole thing. Then I sat down one day while I was recovering from minor ankle surgery and really read the WHOLE book. And the rest is history.
Atkins has proven easy, healthy, and successful for me. Within 6 months, I remember going in for my annual cholesterol test. I was a bit worried about this, considering all I had been warned about doing Atkins. The doctor came in and she asked me what in the world I had been eating. I thought, "Uh oh. Busted!" She continued, "Did you go vegan or something?" I laughed and told her what I was doing. She went on to tell me my cholesterol had dropped significantly. I was hooked.
I consider Atkins to be, as I call it, a nutrient-dense way of eating.
So, more power to you, enjoy the journey and the after party of a healthier life!
Well done Sta, you should be going through the worst of it and you made the hardest move when you chose to make the change and go on the Atkins.
I have lost a little over a stone on the atkins in the first 8 days, I am lucky I feel, but I do have a lot to loose, so percentage wise what I have lost is not a big deal.
I am sure if you stick to it, you will get every result you desire!
In the meantime, join us in the UK group on this board... very helpful for UK issues such as translating american names for products into uk products, and shopping hints.
Good luck and I look forward to your after or during pics soon!
