  • How Often

As far as the before and after pics and measurements, how often should they be tracked ... i'm a scale hype and i check my weight several times a week .. i know i shouldn't be but what is a happy medium. Shoud we track once a week stats, every two week stats, monthly stats? .... I just got better from being sick for a good 3 weeks .. i originally started beginning of October but had to start over and I still look and weigh the same as my signature ..
( very, very frustrating ) .. i feel i should have been lost weight by now .. getting discouraged thinking i will never lose the weight to make me feel happy ...

    Re: How Often

I wouldn't weigh more than once a week. Alternatively - if you are able to see the big picture and not get demoralised by daily scale fluctuations - you could weigh every day and then, at the end of a week, divide the total by 7 (or number of days weighed) to get an average. That way, you see a reliable trend of your progress.

Best of all... take measurements. The tape measure is a better guage than the scales ever will be!

Hang in there and try not to get discouraged... you've just been sick and are probably still feeling low because of that, as well as the pause in your weight loss plans. Hang in there... you can do it. We'll help!!!

      Re: How Often

I weight once maybe twice a week. I post pictures every 10lbs, just to see if there is a difference...

Everyone will be different, you just have to do what is right for you!!

I weigh every day and log into fitday. I measure once a month, and log it in fitday also.

          Re: How Often

I like to weigh and measure once a week so I know where I am without getting fixated on the scale. I want to weigh more often but I resist. I know from past experience that daily fluctuations can be too much for me ... a gain and I get depressed and lose hope ... a loss and I might think I am 'ahead' and can afford a 'treat' ... both resulting in a binge ... but it's true it is different for different people.

Regarding not losing while you were sick, how about thinking of it this way: you didn't gain! Before Atkins maybe you would have gained in those weeks, but you didn't, so you can congratulate yourself on that!
