  • Before and now, Ups and downs.

    I have experienced years of pain of being overweight.
    I would really appreciate it if you could tell me opinions that i might want to hear.

    Well... I'm sure you'll want to hear how well you've done, because you have! Congratulations! You look really good.
    Did you lose weight doing Atkins? How come you are on induction now? It doesn't look as though you need to lose more weight...

      The pics show great progress?
      Do you live in Egypt? So yes, are you trying to lose more weight? What are your stats? High/Current/Goal Weight ---height, etc

          Hello, I'm new here, really glad to join you.
          My name's Adel, I'm 20 years old from Egypt.
          Well. I haven't really been through a regular diet or atkins.
          I remember back then looking at myself in the mirror, really HATED! how my body looked, it would only make me feel down .
          Then one day i decided to give up all kinds of unneeded causing fat food and drinks (Chocolate, Sugar drinks, Fried food and much more) at the same time I started to work out variable types of body exercises, it was SO HARD to start, harder to go on but i kept pushing myself.
          I've lost 102 lbs through the past 5 years.
          Happy to say that my life's much lighter now, I run, jump and do whatever I've always thought was hard to do.
          I'm proud with what i've come to, intending to lose more unwanted weight in the next few months.
          Started: 265 lbs (2004)
          Good Progress: 225 lbs (2005)
          Progress: 210 lbs (2006)
          Poor Progress: 200 lbs (2007)
          Pushing Progress: 185 lbs (2008 )
          Current Weight: 163 lbs
          Current Height: 5" 9
          Current Age: 20
          Goal: 145 lbs

            well actually it wasn't regular Atkins. I started 5 years ago (265 lbs).
            my current goal is 145 lbs.
            Started: 265 lbs (2004)
            Good Progress: 225 lbs (2005)
            Progress: 210 lbs (2006)

                        If you haven't read it, the book we go by here is Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution - 2002 edition. It really helps to understand the whys and wherefores of the programme.

                            Congratulations Adel on all that you have accomplished with your weight loss up till this point.....you should be very proud of yourself....well done!!!!

                            Heaviest weight - 403 lbs. (2007)
                            April 1, 2008 - 387 lbs. (This is when I initially started to lose weight…but was not on Atkins at this point)
                            Atkins start weight – 347 lbs. (July 19, 2008 – began Atkins)
                            1st major goal met -----100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.
                            2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
                            3rd major goal met - Wed, May 13-09 - Reached losing 200 lbs. in just over a year and a couple of months.
                            4th major goal met – Reached “Onederland” June 6-09 – 198 lbs.
                            5th major goal met - My 1 yr. Atkins anniversary - Weighing 184 lbs. this day
                            Current weight – 172 lbs.
                            Goal weight - 150 – 160

                            My personal journey:
