  • The halfway comparison - Nearly 60Lb lost!

    Alright. Since my goals now are to build muscle and lose fat (get shredded), I have to become comfortable with my body. So, I'm posting these pictures of me showing a side comparison, then and now.

    In the first picture I'm 283lb, before starting Atkins. By the time I decided to actually start Atkins, I was weighed in at 281lb. Even still, I looked the same.

    In the second picture I'm weighing in at 223lb.

    Can you see a difference?

    You look like a different person almost. Great job. You are quite a motivator for the rest of us!!

    1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
    what the rungs mean to me:
    rung 1 - more veggies
    rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
    rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
    rung 4 - berries, melon
    rung 5 - wine -
    rung 6 - beans, hummus
    rung 7 - other fruits
    rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
    rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
    Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
    (on to pre-maintenance)

                    Posting my pictures here and subsequently receiving such positive comments has only boosted my confidence & motivation. Thank you all for your kind words. It has been a battle all of my life trying to control my weight. It wasn't until posting these pictures side by side that I realized how big I actually used to be.

                    I've made a vow not to let myself get out of control again. That was just ridiculous looking back on it.

                    I just returned from the gym tonight and I must say how rewarding being "fit" has become. Never in a million years did I have think I would say "what an awesome workout."

                    It's surreal.
