    Hi my name is Trish...I'm new of course :wave

    I started the low carb diet in Jan...and to date have lost 40lbs. But now it's been 5 days and no weight loss...I seem to have hit a bump in the road...I've heard of this happening before (actually did the low carb before and it happened then too)..but how long will I have to wait to lose again? It's so discouraging and frustrating :sadblinky

    Hi.

    Post your menu in the Review My Menu board of the forum. Usually, folks need alittle tweaking.

    And the usual questions....

    What is your current weight and your goal weight?
    Are you drinking your water?
    ARe you exercising?
    Are you eating the low carb bars/shakes/etc.?

      First of all, CONGRATS on your 40 pound loss. And since January, that's amazing! :icondance

      Yes, please post your menu. Sometimes you just need to "shake things up" either by eating more, or less, or maybe just different foods. Same with exercise... try increasing what you do, or try another activity all together.

        Yes, please read that link Effie put up, and know that lulls in weight loss are quite normal, and five days isn't a very long one at all.
        I've lost 40 pounds, and I have about 25 or so to go, and my weight loss has slowed down considerably..which is what I expected. The link explains this as well.

        I'd suggest to put the scale away and weigh in only once a week, or once every two weeks if daily weigh-ins are ruining your day. It's not worth it. If you are eating and exercising as you should, the weight is going to come off, but on it's own terms.

        Also, we need some more information!

        Take a moment and go up into your Profile and in the signature line let us know your age, gender, height, start weight/current weight/goal weight, and that'll give us something to go on.
        Also, pop down into Review My Menu and read the sticky on how to post a menu and let us know what you are eating, including the times of day that you ate it.
        That'll give us a place to start from.

          Just to clarify, are you doing Atkins or are you generally low-carbing?

            Well....

            Well I'm not following Atkins exactly...just low carb but I do eat some Atkins products. I have always been under 30 carbs a day...and basically I just eat meats and cheeses...salad, eggs...carb control yogurt...sugar free jello...lots of water. A mile a day of walking either outside or on my treadmill and lifting weights for my arms. The weather is getting nicer here so will begin bike riding w/ my boys as well(pulling my 2 year old in a trailer). We also have a pool so when it's warm enough for that I will begin swimmig too.

            Thankfully for me I carry my weight pretty well....I hit 203 but could still wear a size 14 (stretch). Now I'm in an 11/12. Would love to lose at least another 30lbs.

              Hi and welcome. You may wish to post in the 'low carb other than Atkins forum' as in the Atkins forum we give advice 'by the book' based on the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. Congratulations on your loss so far though!
