  • Mom..crazy..help her

    My mom think i'm crazy when i'm doing atkins and eating too much..this is what i ate today and will for dinner

    breakfast: 2 eggs and 1 ounce swiss cheese
    lunch:1 cup lettuce and 2 tbsp caesar dressing, 3.5 ounces raw tuna and 1 tbsp mayo and 1 ounce swiss cheese
    dinner: 5 ounces of white fish, 2 cups lettuce and 2.5 tbsp caesar dressing

    and im doing 30 mins cardio...

    im gonna show her this post..what would u tell her of this..she feels im eating too much too often..she doesn't get it. help her please. she doesn't understand me. thanks Explain.

    Have you put that into fitday? Doesn't sound like your eating too much to me at all, if anything I'd check to see if your getting enough calories since most of your protien is from fish (which is good, but lower in calories) . Tell your mom that if you go too low, your body will go into starvation mode and actually cause you to gain.

      Lauren, has your mother read the book? If not, tell her to read it, and when she understands how it all works, she might have a change of mind.

      Generally when people don't understand something, they don't accept it.

      Starving is not the way to lose weight...eating the correct foods is..and it's all explained in the book.

        Ditto what the others have said. I want to add that I don't think you're getting enough calories. Lettuce is good but don't you want something else?

        Anyway (sorry got off track), tell her how much better you feel being on this WOL. If she won't read the book, at least print out the stickies and show her certain items such as: How it controls blood sugar, blood pressure, gives you more energy, and especially how people have been able to come off of, or cut down on diabetes meds.

        Or maybe... get her online and let her read all of our posts! :nod

          Woah! That's not much at all!

          I know they say your appetite diminishes... but I still eat like a hound. I need a lot to feel satisfied. I think it's because I'm not eating a lot of the carbs (bread... potatos) and it takes a lot more of other things to feel content.

          Go ahead and eat until you are content (not still hungry... or stuffed).

            You are eating not much at all
            You should maybe even put in some snacks in between meals, and indeed vary the veggies a bit too.
            What we want to happen is keep that fat-oven burning, if you keep your metabolism working, the better you will lose weight !!!
            Keep up the good work !!!!
            And mum : Really, read the book, then you will understand, we have to lose the idea of 'fat is bad' and 'you have to eat just a little', really believe me, I was on a stall for weeks and found out I ate too little, the moment I started eating more, off came the weight !!!!
            You will understand if you read everything :hug your daughter has not gone crazy !
