I drink it alot...don't let it steep more than 3-5 mins and take the bag out...otherwise it gets bitter...I like to add ice and a slice of lemon to mine sometimes
I have bought some, recently, and it seems to have a soothing affect on us! But I've only become a tea drinker since starting this WOE, so I'm no pro on teas!!! :nono
I drink it loads and I love it, but then it might be because I bought a load of 'Earl Grey' green tea for 25p a pack from Hypervalue and I'd consume anything cheap, low-carb and good for you...

Earl Grey Green Tea? That's a new one for me! I drink Green Tea, and have come to enjoy it. It is loaded with anti-oxidants, and that is supposed to have huge health benefits. Most supermarkets stock it, and it is very refreshing with half a spoon of Splenda.
Green tea is the main ingredient in Atkins Accel. It is also believed that green tea has thermogenic properties that helps weight loss. Some on these boards swear by it (me included) while others have experienced little effects.
If you want to avoid the caffeine, let it steep for 30 secs then throw the water out. 90% of the caffeine is released in the first 30 secs. Then again, since caffeine also acts as an appetite suppressant, you might want to take some green tea an hour before a meal (if you're off induction). You'll have to experiment to see what effect certain amounts of caffeine have on you.

I drink green tea by the gallons ... and black teas, and white teas .. virtually anything sold at www.republicoftea.com is awesome stuff. Not only do I drink alot of tea, but I also take green tea extract capsules (2 a day).
Do note that green tea nade with boiling water is bitter - I am a proper Englishman and always make my tea with fully boiling water. Quite wrong with green tea - let the biled kettle stand for 2-3 minutes before making green tea.
I also drink decaf English breakfast Tea, which I do make with boiling water.
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
he said, 'Don't count calories.'

When I gave up coffee, I switched to decaf green tea.
I don't know if its helping with weight loss or not, but since I need all the help I can get , I figure it can't hurt me.

I don't think it caught on - that's why Hypervalue ended up with loads of the stuff. They sell all kinds of junk and all the market-failures from the big food companies. Some are disgusting but some are brilliant. For the last couple of weeks they've been shifting out Low-Carb Rolos at 20p a pack and it's been really hard to restrict how many I buy as I'd buy 7 to last me the week and then eat the lot in 2 days flat. Fortunately they seem to be all sold out now... The Earl Grey tea is brilliant though! Only the English would think of doing that to something as healthful as green tea. Mind you, I think in America you can get Bacon flavour Diet Coke, so I guess anything is possible :yes

I have a couple of cups of decaffinated green tea a day. My weight loss seemed to speed up when I started, so I keep on drinking it! Not sure if it was the tea, or my metabolism improving... or the tea doing the improving. But whatever... it's good!
