  • Almost did it.

I almost cheated yesterday. my best friend of five years had passed away in a car accident. I havent seen him for 6 months (since i started the diet and I finally went to his new house thinking how mad i was at him that he didnt say goodbye or get to see me skinny.. he always cared about my health. just 16.. we grew up together.. i almost drowned my sorrows in bad foods.. however.. i know that if he did see me he would be happy for me.

I'm so sorry. It would be tough not to drown your sorrows during such a time.

Sorry to hear of the loss but would have been senseless to take it out on yourself by eating bad foods and then you would have felt really really bad cheating. Way to hang in there! :icondance

I'm sorry for your loss. Congratualtions on not cheating. Last time I was on Atkins that is exactly what caused my cheat and spiral downward. My brother in law committed suicide and it was just to much to deal with. It didn't make me feel better eating carbs and here I am 5 years later with more to lose. I'm on this WOE for life now. I'm so glad you didn't make the same mistake I did.

If he was the friend he appears to have been, and I'm sure he was... he would be so glad you didn't drown your sorrow.

So sorry for your loss... and you have my admiration for your strength of will.

Self, I'm so sorry for your friend's passing. I am so proud of you for sticking with this way of eating. Your friend is smiling down on you right now. He wouldn't want you to mess up because of him. Do it to help him live on.
