  • Can Hormones cause you to stall

I was just curious cause I am having the worst TOM since starting this woe aand actually I would say one of the worst I have ever had. Could this be due to hormones and what can I take to help. This is what I am already taking for vitamins.

    Flax seed oil 2x1000
    calcium 500
    vit d 125
vit b complex 2 per day
    magnesium
    zinc
    multi vit
    vit b6

Is there something I am missing LOL.

I sure hope my homones level out soon, is this a normal occurance on this WOE do your hormons get worse before better.

I am not experience with female hormones, so I can't answer perfectly, but I do know that any hormonal imbalance will cause a flutter in this WOL, whether it be mental or physical.

I hope the hormonal thing gets better, because my pms's seem to be getting progressively worse, and it's been over a year since I started Atkins.
Atkins has made my periods perfectly regular (I've always been irregular) as well as having intensified pms.
Because I've never really weighed on a consistent basis, I'm not sure what it does to the weight loss, but I wouldn't doubt that the hormones wreak havoc.

Gosh, I really wish I had a better contribution to this thread :hug

I think hormones can wreak havoc on your weight regardless of the woe. I would see your Dr. about it..I don't think there's anything otc that you can take to level out hormones.

I am right there with you....actually I was goign to do a search for past posts about this topic today and post if I did not find my answer!

I am right there with you....this is crazy! I have now been doing induction for 12 days and I think I have had TOM for almost that entire time and way out of control. I definatly think that the hormones are beign affected. I was hoping to discover it is normal at first but will get better. I am hoping that this gets better soon!

After giving birth to my daughter I was having severe problems with TOM and even went in for surgery last summer and had an IUD implanted to control TOM....I have been great for almost a year and now this!!!!!!!!!

Hope someone else can give some input!?

You might try Evening Primrose Oil (its a supplement) to ease your hormonal issues. I had a doctor tell me it can help with PMS and related issues.

                Worth a try. :hug

I'm wondering if anyone with this problem had taken Dr. Atkin's advice and stopped taking oral contraceptives? If so, this will make your TOM much worse (or at least it does for me). Mine used to be so bad before the pill that I'm willing to risk a stall instead of stopping them.

I'll see what my TOM is like soon enough, although I changed pill prescriptions recently (I think the one I was on for the past year made me develop eczema on my hands).

Hope your TOM's get better soon!

Strangely enough, I decided that after 30 years, it was time to get off the pill and see if I could break my year-long stall. Well, the stall's not broken, but I haven't had a period since the one right after my last pill pack. That's two I've completely skipped! I guess it threw me directly into menopause. I'm certainly having hot flashes and night sweats to go with it too! So I'm left wondering which is worse, a little pms or this? LOL! I don't expect an answer to that one....

I don't take the pill I tried and bled for 1 month straight and said that's enough of that and plus I was feeling really sick. I have an IUD now which is awesome have had it for I think 4 months now but, this TOM is crazy and really heavy. I This iw going onto month 7 now and I assumed it woiuld get better not worse boy was I crazy. I guess though with any weight loss it screws with homones cause your body is releasing that nice estrogen that is trapped in your fat some people have more estrogen stored especially those who are heavy around the but and thughs. YAY for me my A$$ is the biggest thing on me so I guess my estrogen level is crazy.
