I've been working out with a trainer and doing cardio since two weeks after I started Atkins. Well there was a lady, about my age, who worked out on the same days that I do and when I first started, she told me she was doing Atkins too. Then she starts talking about low fat this and that, and I explained that she wasn't doing Atkins if she was concerned about low fat.

So I'd see her off and on over the next month or so and she'd always say how she had cheated, or just stopped "dieting", and I'd hear her trainer admonishing her for not being consistent with her training or her cardio.

Well she was there today when I went to do my cardio workout and her mouth fell open when she saw me! :yikes She couldn't believe the changes in me and I explained that I had lost 28 lbs, hadn't cheated, worked out faithfully, etc...

She said, "I'm SOOOOO jealous!" Then she tells me she has joined Weight Watchers, and I couldn't help but wonder to myself when she'd fall off that wagon too, because she's always got excuses for everything... but I encouraged her to keep moving forward, that every pound counts!
Hopefully she'll realize that she has to be committed, no matter what program she does, and to be consistent with her exercise.

It was nice though to see the reaction from someone who hasn't seen me in a while.

    :joy

    amazes me

Yeah it amazes me when people say they know all there is to know about the Atkins diet, only to be clueless... Sad to say these are the same ones who write negative reports for the media.
One person told me when I said I was doing Atkins, they said "wow, how did you get past the first 48 hour fasting?"
I had to laugh and reply that you could surely loose weight fasting, but I was loosing weight without even feeling hungry.
I always just tell them to read the book.

I LOVE THAT WORD!!!!!!!!! I have stated before that people just don't truely understand what that word means these days. (yeah I am only 26, but I was old when I was born ok?) What is up with people? Committ to marriage, committ to your job, committ to yourself. Or don't. Don't get married if you don't mean it. Don't do a job you do not feel passionate about. (per Suzie Orman, the more passionate you are about your job the harder you'll work, the more $$$$ you will make) Don't "go on a diet" if you are not ready to start making yourself a priorty EVERY DAY NO MATTER WHAT.-- ok stepping off my soap box now.

The feeling most have been great! Knowing that you worked so hard and having someone recognize that. Congratulations! :wave

Tex - That is a great soap box to be on! Its almost like once you are ready to commit to yourself - you feel different, stronger almost. At least that is how I feel right now. I don't want to let myself down.

          Happy Friday everyone!
