I hope Bornto does pick up his/her pm soon and realises she/he has not been ordered off the board and returns here.

The TOS letter that was sent was a result of Borntolose posting a message that is thought to be a 'scam' without explaining that it was being posted here as a warning to other members not to be fooled by it!!

If Borntolose had indicated anywhere in the post that it was being posted to help others the TOS letter would not have been sent at all.

When I saw the posting (which read as if it was Borntolose who had originated the scam) I brought it to the attention of the admin staff - so I suppose it was I who was responsible for the whole debacle :sadblinky

In my defence I can only say that other admins/mods agreed with me that it was not a message that should remain on the board for all to read and that the originator should be told that it was not the kind of message that is allowed under our Terms of Service.

It is my job as a moderator to look out for this type of advertising/possible scam to protect our members and keep our board a friendly place where our members are not scammed by internet 'entrepreneurs'.

I am sorry that by trying to do my job I inadvertantly offended a member of good standing, :sadblinky

In hindsight I realise that I ought to have sent Borntolose a pm commenting on the fact that she/he had posted a message that looked like a scam and asked him/her to explain and edit or remove it instead of reporting it straight away. In future I shall learn from this episode and be less hasty

Elizellen is a great moderator, and even though I am leaving the forum as well to go to another one, I would like to say Elizellen has been very helpful and great with me and she will be missed...
