  • I need a 12 step program I swear...

    WTH is it with me and nuts??????.....again I have the stupid things find their way into my house ...smokehouse almonds this time....not pistachios as usual ...so I cram so many I end up sick....but that is only after I attack the peanut butter jar the night before ..and now it is calling to me again!!!...I keep tempting fate!!! and fail!!! what is up with that??????...no other food I have found triggers me like a stupid nut and not other food makes me this sick to my stomach!!! DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...oh well I guess it could be worse it could be cake!!!!!...

    thanks for listening it is a catharsis you know..I am feeling a bit overworked lately!!! :hug but my tummy hurts!!!

    Aaaw! Vent away nurselady! Hurting tummies are never good. I'm sorry the nuts are giving you such a hard time. You are right though, you could havea much more dangerous trigger food. For me, these days, if I'm walking past the ice cream section of the grocery store, it's all I can do to not dive right in!

    I hope your tummy is feeling better soon.

      Oh man, I have to severely limit myself to how many I have!
      I started buying unsalted mixed nuts and I have a small ramekin bowl that I use to eat them out of, so I keep some control. I simply cannot just have a bag of nuts in front of me. I don't even touch peanuts...omg...I'd just inhale them.

      The other thing that helps me is that even when buying them in bulk, the ruddy things are horribly expensive...

      Those of you who haven't reached the nut rung yet, BEWARE!

        I am a cashew junkie!!! I would buy a container of them and eat every last one of them at one setting!!

        Also peanut butter!!! Love peanut butter on cinnamon crackers and also on a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich!! Ok enough of that!!!! Johnny :guns

          I love nuts too, especially Macadamias...

          Found a darn reasonable place online and order them 5lbs at a time! Fresh from the grower, can't get much tastier than that.

          I probably eat 4 ounces of nuts a day now, it's pretty much my daily snack. Walmart has this black can of mixed nuts with 3 carbs average per ounce - combined with the macadamias 1-2 per ounce even 4 total ounces only averages out around 10 carbs!

          And nuts are awful good for you if you can eat em.

                  they are evil they torment me deep with in my soul!!!!!.......I have to put a ban on them....today I woke up hungry and I know there is no reason but the nuts...my tummy is angry with me ....I am a nut!!!!....no other food does this..seriously not even white flour .....man oh man gotta keep a lock on those nuts..of course there are a few people on this board that think :bang :bang :bang that is me!!!! LOLOLOL

                              Nurselady! PUT DOWN THE CAKE! Which would you rather? ensive The two minutes of eating cake (cause let's face it, most of us would scarf it down) followed by a MUCH longer time beating yourself up and feeling the ill effects of all that sugar. :anger Or, that self-satisfied feeling that you passed it up. If it's really calling your name, you can always make a deal with yourself. If you don't eat it you can treat yourself somehow, with pricey legal food (e.g., lobster), a manicure or pedicure, or a new article of clothing.
