  • 2 YEAR ATKINSVERSARY!! Commemorative Poem:

Come listen to the story of Iapetus999
Back in June of '03 wasn't feeling very fine :help
Had trouble eating too much hi-carb food
Then suddenly he learned about this Atkins dude.

On June 6 of '03 he weighed 272
He wondered if lo-carb was the right thing to do
He thought, "what the heck, I'll give it a try,"
"Cause if I don't lose some weight I'm going to cry."

His very first week was a week from ****,
He was tired and weak and didn't feel so well
Then lo and behold the scale began to move
But a couple days of work does nothing prove. :burn

As the weeks went on his tummy began to shrink
"Maybe it'll work," is what he began to think.
He began to do some walking on his treadmill machine
Found himself a trainer who was called Irene. (OK her name was Amber )

In the first 4 weeks he had lost 14 pounds
Moving onto OWL is where he could be found
By September he was down to 236
And he went to the store cause not a damn thing fit. :raving

His trainer pushed him hard and he didn't cheat
Cheese and fish and veggies and a little red meat
He joined ADBB and became a forum mod
He worked online to help others fix their bod. :whip

Then came the tragic ADBB split
He loyalty was torn...he felt like sh-:censor
But he knew he had to stay here with good ole' Tom
The best Admin in the world...he's the bomb.

    On December 7 of 2003
Iap became at happy as Iap can be
You could hear the joy from his very soul
Cause on that cold December day Iap reached his goal!(210) :icondance

Our story doesn't end, in fact there's more
Jan 1, '04 became a day of lore
Something happened to Iap that made him smile
For the first time in his life he had run a mile!

Iap still comes around from time to time
He's changed his life around in ways sublime
He runs all the time, even in a 5K race
Even tho he can finish it's not a great pace

Now it's time for us to turn a page
To find what's next on Iap's life's stage.
He plans to climb a mountain that's really high
If it wasn't for Atkins he would never try. :hug

He trains all the time and he's really fit
He's kept the weight off...just think about it.
He hopes that others will read this and know
That there's just no telling how far you can go. :nod

                  Happy Atkinsversary :joy
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
