It's got sugar alcohols in it and the Atkins bars don't count them as part of net carbs. also subtract fibre from the total carbs because they are not digestible carbs and therefore not absorbed by the body. There is no clear concensus t about whether sugar alcohols are counted or not.
My recommendation is to stay away from Atkins bars - they are full of artificial ingredients and the Atkins company makes money from them so that's why they try to promote and sell them30yo F 5'5 (166cm)

Just a word of experience here, I always keep an Atkins granola-y trail mix type of bar (not the chocolate-y kind) in my purse for when my blood sugar gets too low along with an individual peanut butter packet. I'm insulin dependent diabetic and occasionally for one reason or another my blood sugar will drop drastically, if I eat an Atkins bar it raises my blood sugar back up to where it should be, so even though they say there's only 2 gms of carbs I would be very leery of eating these as a "low carb" product. If my blood sugar is just starting to drop or isn't drastically low I eat the peanut butter as my bs doesn't raise very much from the peanut butter, but it avoids a major crash. If I'm at home or near real food, I just eat my next meal. Anyway, point being that these low carb Atkins bars aren't effectively low carb for my body's processing purposes of diabetes, so I would be careful of them if I were you. Just my 2 cents!

Also,
Take a look at the ingredients in the back, if none of them are allowed on the phase you are in, they are no-no's.
Inductioneers have to def stay away from them.335/265/230

Thank you for your 2 cents, that is very interesting! I was curious about that, you answered the question! I do believe that sugar alcohols impact people more than the manufacturies care to admit! They just want the money to come out of our pockets and then placed happily into there pockets :guns

Oh, don't think he wasn't fully aware of the products. If you take the total carbs, then subtract the grams of fiber and grams of sugar alcohol, you'll get the net carbs (the ones that affect your Atkins and getting into ketosis/lipolysis). Most food labels (especially one's geared toward carb watchers) ought to have all this info on the label.

Most Atkins purists do not deduct the sugar alcohols only the fiber is deducted. Sugar alcohols effect different folks in different ways, they act like carbs for alot of us. That plus, alot of us cannot tolerate sugar alcohols, they cause stomach and intestinal distress that is not worth the pain!Originally posted by ejdonahueIf you take the total carbs, then subtract the grams of fiber and grams of sugar alcohol, you'll get the net carbs (the ones that affect your Atkins and getting into ketosis/lipolysis). Don't be so sure... when I decided to start eating low carb hot cereal that had only 3 g net carbs, but 15g fiber, I stalled out terribly.Originally posted by ejdonahueIf you take the total carbs, then subtract the grams of fiber and grams of sugar alcohol, you'll get the net carbs (the ones that affect your Atkins and getting into ketosis/lipolysis). I would avoid any product that has a full day's Induction carb gram count in one serving, even if that total has say, 15-20 g fiber. IT IS JUST A LABEL, YOU GOING TO TRUST IT?! Remember, the govt. DOES NOT regulate net carbs on labels, so they can LIE. You decide.
