  • Cats LOVE my Atkins

My cats absolutely LOVE that I'm on Atkins, especially induction. They love it so much actually, they've started on the Catkins diet. They eat liberally of my cheese, chicken, beef, turkey, cream, fish, wings, eggs, butter, etc. They even get veggies by waiting until there's pleny of butter or cheese on them and then they nibble away.

They get their daily exercise by chasing my feet, following me wherever I might go if I'm holding food, and catching dead mice, birds, and rats to contribute to our woe, and batting around the broccoli they stole from me after licking all the cheese or butter off of it.

    Anyone else's cat LOVE Atkins?

    That's so cute!! lol

Moochie actually, in the last six months, has accepted little bits of chicken, cheese and her favourite, ham! She's never been a people food cat, but now she'll eat a tiny little bit or two.
She really liked the ham though...ate it quite noisily and had about six little tiny bits.

What we find really funny is that when she eats our food, she'll sit there and lick her face clean for the looooooongest time afterwards...lol

I was worried she'd turn into table scrap cat, but she'll just come over, politely sit and wait till she's offered something...more often than not she'll draw back and leave as if to say "You eat that??!!!"

Yep, my cats LOVE my Atkins! They get a lot of my chicken fat and skin to munch on, and steak fat is popular too. They are outdoor cats and that extra protein and fat is just what those little hunters need! :wolfie

Did any of you think that it's NOT the cats that are following Atkins, maybe we're following the CAT's diet? LOL

LOL AWESOME post! haha my cats, Fergie and Hobbes do love it. Sometimes when I use heavy cream in something, ill pour them a little capful and let them drink it...or when I make tuna I always put the cans on the ground so they can clean em out.

Teddy loves the scraps that we give him. Especially the crisp bacon, ham, and the can of tuna fish, to lick up clean!!!

My two cats love it too! They follow me around and sit and beg for the yummy smelling food. And if I don't clean out the drip tray from my grill immediately one of them jumps onto the counter to lick at it. Yuck!

One of my cats, Nala LOVES MY DIET, Esp hot hamburger or fish or chicken or come to think of it ANY meat. I've even discovered that she LOVES LOVES Corn on the cob. I let her sniff mine when I was done and she went crazy chewing on it.

Onyx, my other cat will not eat people food. He loves dry cat food and fresh cold water (or shower water). He won't even eat cat treats!!!!

I knew there had to be more cats like mine

As soon as I started reinduction the cats were VERY friendly towards me. They're aggresive too. They jump up at my food and take it. They even eat raw hamburger. I'll have it out, I turn to the pantry to get a seasoning and there's a cat eating it up. :no

I do love them though. I've been wanting to make a post about cats and Atkins before, just wasn't sure what to say. They are all snoozing right now, so I'm quietly eating my lunch and hoping they won't notice.

Edit: One of them woke up, so am now sharing a stuffed green pepper. Grrrr.....

Hairy likes cheese. Cheddar and other strong flavored cheeses are his favorites. So I have to constantly shoo him away if I'm preparing anything with cheese because he'll try to sneak a bite or two. I once was making something with grated parmesan cheese and the telephone rang. When I got off the phone, there was no parmesan cheese and Hairy was cleaning his whiskers.

He also likes whipped cream and sour cream. But he's not too crazy about chicken, turkey or fish, other than salmon.

No cats here, just two Akitas (dogs), who are actually a lot like living with a big cat! 130lbs of cat!

But my dogs have been eating a "species appropriate diet" for 7+ years now. They don't eat kibble at all. They eat raw meat, raw bones, raw eggs, raw organ meat, veggies and other stuff, all meant to mimic what they would eat if they were in the wild, and what their digestive system is meant to eat anyway.

So needless to say, my grocery bill for meat is always high! :yes

My cat could care less. She loves her dry food and water. She will delicately lick the mayo, butter and sometimes... just sometimes... she will drink the juice from the albacore. NOT tuna!!! :yikes It HAS to be albacore!! She won't eat fresh meat (turkey, chicken, etc). I don't know why. Not even cheese or cream.

The cat that I lost last year, on the other hand, was where ever the food was. She would lay next to my plate and if it looked like I wasn't going to leave enough for her, she would reach her paw out and start helping herself. She ate everything... literally.... but that's not why she's gone now.

My daughter got a kitten that's 10 mo old now. She likes the albacore juice and egg yolks from my eggs. That and her dry food are all that she likes. It's no fun at my house anymore!!! :anger
