    Diet Coke w/ Splenda

I just saw a Diet Coke commercial saying that they're now selling Diet Coke sweetened with Splenda. Has anyone tried this? How does the taste compare to regular Diet Coke and Coke? I'm excited to get my hands on this stuff

    2010 - 225

I actually really like the taste and think it is better then just plain Diet coke!

However, as I have such a slow metabolic rate, I have been avoiding splenda and caffeine in general, as I think it slows me down quite a bit.

I'll try it when they come out with a caffeine free version. I loved DC back in the old days and used to drink at least 6-8 cans a day. Now I have maybe 1 or 2 diet rite's in a week. I still can't believe how water has become beverage of choice. So strange

I took a couple of sips of Splenda Diet Coke over Memorial Day weekend. It was flat in comparison to how I remember regular Coke to be. It had a funny aftertaste and it was way too sweet.

As for the diet coke, I agree with not2late, it tasted flat to me too.

I like the new diet coke.. I think it taste better than the old dc, but not as goos as regular coke. I have also tried the pepsi with splenda. It is okay, but not as good to me. I wish they would make a diet dr pepper with splenda..

:joy Being in the stuff-that-goes-in-soda-cans industry... you will find that all sodas will very shortly change over to Splenda as soon as their contracts with Nutrasweet are done. The word is out that Nutrasweet is no good. It has a worse rep than saccharin had way back when.

That makes sense, daisy. I personally don't care since I drank both and had no problem.

The splenda DC tasted like diet coke to me, but I posted last week that it was nothing special, just same old. Maybe it was the kinda flat taste that was making it too sweet. I thought I got a bad batch. Maybe it needs to go through some trials beofre they hit a working formula.

I, too, think it's too sweet with no enough fizz. It's OK. I've bought it twice and don't think I'll buy it again. I am going to try the Diet Rite.

not trying to put a damper on this... but doesn't diet coke have caffeine? or is it also listed as "caffeine-free"?

Pepsi Edge tastes nasty too---watery, flat, funny aftertaste, yuck!

It might just be me, but whenever I want a carbonated drink now, I reach for a cold club soda or diet tonic water....

Honestly, I will want a cup of tea once in a while but I'm so full of water I just don't enjoy it much.
