It comes down to doing the same as any added food during OWL. Evaluate what its effect is on you. If it drives your cravings for additional sweets or food or stalls you, cut back or eliminate it. You can always retry it later. As for discovering that diet soda drinkers are more likely to be obese, I don't think they broke any new ground. The real comparison would be with a controlled diet and three control groups with equal amounts water vs. regular pop vs. diet pop. From my reads, it looks like they just verified a correlation between diet pop drinkers and obese people.

LOL... I didn't either. I did give up diet soda though. And now that I haven't been drinking it regularly I've found that I don't like it much anymore. I'd rather have water. Now that's a BIG change in lifestyle for me!
