  • How do you make whoosie horseradish pie?

    Hi,

I read something about a pie filling made out of horseradish that help you loose water retention. Can anyone tell me how to make this dish?

    Thanks

'Whooshie Pie' (not it's original name) originated last year when a member made it, ate it, and experienced a weight loss. Whether it was a real phenomenon due to the thermogenic nature of horseradish, or whether it was a fluke, the member had a lot of fun with it..renamed it Whooshie Pie, :joy and the whole concept was born.

This is not a miracle food...and if you don't like horseradish or mustard, it'll probably turn your stomach...lol...but if you do, enjoy it! You might have a whooshie, you might not....but at least you'll have had a good Induction Friendly meal.

      whooshi pie

      Hi,

Thanks for the receipt! I do like anything thats a little spicey, so this is right up my alley. Not crazy about cream cheese, but I'll take that chance. I'll let the board know if it works for me. I sure could use a whoosie!

      Thanks

We found it too rich, so I've cut down the amount of the filling, and it was better.
I've also used the same idea and put in my own fillings. Sauteed mushrooms, peppers and onions with a bit of tomato sauce and mozarella made a nice 'pizza' pie. :yes

I like cooking, and I always make something following the recipe the first time, and then I modify it...it's fun!

I even tried a chinese food style of filling, with sauteed beansprouts, onion, bok choy, celery and peppers with a splash of soy sauce over them, and then over the top of the pie. It was really good too!
I also mixed garlic and onion in with the meat itself too.

tonight I made something sort of like this...i used 1lb of lean ground beef and cooked it with some onions and fresh garlic, and for the topping i used 3 eggs, some mayo, salt and pepper and cheddar cheese and mixed it all up..put beef in the bottom of the pie tin then poured that on top and stuck it in the oven on 350 for 45 mins...SO good...only like 3 carbs a serving! I ate like 3 servings though...hehe it was that good!

                  whoosie pie

                  You were right Moochie,

I didnt like this dish at all. First, there was way too much cream cheese. I started feeling like I was drinking cream cheese soup! Yuck! :nono The horseradish flavor is ok if your having one or two bits but trying to eat an entire serving of horseradish pie is a little intense.

So did I experiance the all mighty whooshie? Not sure, after I ate the pye I kept breaking out in sweat :yikes , but I think it was more related to the fact that I didnt like the cream cheese disaster. I did loose two pounds the next day, but I have also cut out eatting after 7pm, so maybe I had a whooshie comming. Would I try this dish again if I were in a stall? You betcha! Im just desperate that way! :geek
