If you can get the dried seaweed (usually used for sushi) then these tend to have less carbs and you can eat them like a snack.
The dried seaweed that the Japanese use, also called "nori" tends to have soy sauce and/or sugar, so you have to limit these
However, if you go to Korean shops, you can get ones that are lightly roasted, lightly salted and taste really :yummy and you CAN eat these as a snack, or use it to wrap your veggie sticks, avocado, grilled meats etc
Nutrition facts on the dried seaweed I get from the Korean shop are:
10 cals per serving (10 sheets of 2 x 3 inch pieces)
Fat 0.5g (from the sesame oil coating for roasting

These dried seaweed can also be added to soups.
You can buy other forms of seaweed, as mentioned previously and listed as "kelp" in Fitday, but these tend to have more carbs and some are too slimey for the American taste
