  • General Mills cereal commercial

Well sure enough, warping an already warped food pyramid General Mills has a new commercial out saying that all GM cereals have whole grain as suggested in the new food pyramid. And of course it includes Trix and all the other garbage cereals you know so well.

Sure they have whole grain, but the sugar kills the benefits. Too funny! I think that sadly, the food corporations are able to manipulate information so much that some times we are not getting the true information. Look at all the things that are labeled "low carb" but have sugar?? People that have not read DANDR but think they are doing low carb just get duped. :confused

I had to laugh when I saw that commercial. Like the use of whole grains makes the use of all that sugar a good thing.

I guess the phrase 'whole grains' is the big thing now kinda like 'oat bran' and 'low fat' once was.

"whole grains" and "no trans fats" are the two newest catch phrases on processed foods.

What's even worse, is that when compared to other whole grain cereals all the GM cereals and Post and Kellog Cereals only provided 2 grams of fiber or less, which is SUPPOSED to be the benefit of whole grain.

The trans fats is a good thing though, its amazing how much stuff you thought was okay to eat that's loaded with trans fats. I make a true effort to avoid it when I can.
