How do I count snacks I eat overnight?

  • How do I count snacks I eat overnight?

    Hi Everyone,

    Tonight I'm participating in the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and my husband and I have packed a bunch of snacks for us, ranging from cheese, to hardboiled eggs, to pepperoni sticks, to celery.

    The Relay begins at 6pm and goes straight to 6am. I can't figure out how I should count the carbs - should I count everything up until midnight as part of today's count, and everything after midnight towards tomorrow's count? Should I count it all as part of today? [In which case, my numbers tomorrow will be really low.]

    What do you guys think?

    I would count until midnight and then start over for the next day at that time. But then again, you may be sleeping most of the next day away anyway.

      or you could just count 2 days instead of 1...just be under 40 carbs for the 2 days...dunno how well this would work, it should be fine as long as you spread everything out and don't eat too much in 1 sitting

        I just count a day as when I get up to when I go to sleep. I dont go by clock hours. I tend to sleep late adn go to bed late especially during summer vacation. So, i am sometimes only having a first meal at noon or one and ging to bed at 6 am

          I also count from the time I get up, to the time I go to bed. I work night shift several days a week, and may not eat my first meal until 1-2 pm each day, and my last meal around 3 am or so.. When I go to bed, the day ends, and when I get up, I count it as a new day..
