  • Serious leg cramps!!!

I have been on the diet for almost a month.
I have had several episodes of VERY BAD leg cramps! :yikes
Am taking a daily vitamin, ,My totals for the most important ones are:
1200 Mg Calcium, 600 Mg. Magnesium, 600I.U of Vitamin E,180 Mg Fish Oil EPA and 1000 Mg. Vit C.
Is there a capsule Dr Atkins put out that has all the needed supplements?
If so , what is it and where do I get it??
Thanks much for your kind advice and assistance.
Other than the leg cramps I feel great!
My blood pressure is way down to the point I will have to discontinue the 1/2 tablet of a weak diuretic soon ! :wave . Oh yes, I try to drink 6 galsses of water daily. Pete

    Try more water, Pete....

8-8oz glasses is recommended plus anoter 8oz per 10lbs (or is it 20lbs) of weight you need to lose

Upping your water may just do the trick!

Oh, and as far as supplements, there are 2 from Atkins I take regularly along with garlic and vitaminC

        Basic3 (multi)
        Essential Oils ('good' oils supplement)

        Both are Atkins brand.....

I have seen others post that Centrum Silver is very close to Basic3 so I'd think you can choose either.

If you're already taking Calcium, it may be a Potassium deficiency. Betty (ttdriver) suggested a while back that a good way to lower sodium intake and up your potassium intake was to switch to Mortons Lite Salt, which has half the sodium of regular salt and I think it's something like 340mg of Potassium per 1/4 teaspoon. I switched to that and I take Citracal Plus, and no leg cramps! :yes

I'm all for the potassium supplements as well! They eliminated my leg cramps right away.
If you're taking calcium already, potassium alone should be fine.

Now that my weight loss has slowed down I'm weaning myself off of them and things are going fine.
