I have done so well on this way of life until recently......... for the last few weekends I have been having a few glasses of wine and been noshing on chips and dip at the same time. So far I have straightened up right away and gotten right back into my usual eating pattern. Well we just had pizza at work today and I had two pieces!!!! What the **** am I doing?!! Is it over now? Or can I start from the beginning? I feel terrible and am afraid I will lose your support. The only thing I CAN say is that there is a WHOLE cake in our breakroom and I am not worried because I know I will not have sugar!

nomore,
I think once you slip up it's that much easier to do it again and again. That is why I try not to allow myself to even cheat a little. I've worked to hard to go backwards. I bet after you eat these things your kicking yourself. I think (mind you this is just my opinion) that maybe you'd be better off going back on strict induction to clease yourself of all that crap and start fresh and to get those cravings that your now going to have back under your control. You've come too far to give up!!!!!~*Jena*~30

First off...no way is that going to happen. We don't expect perfection around here and a lot of us have gone through what your going through. So no worries there o.k! :hugI feel terrible and am afraid I will lose your support.
I would recommend a clean induction and be sure to get your water in. Also, when you're tempted to eat those foods just remind yourself how badly they make you feel. Nobody should eat food that makes them feel terrible, takes away the whole point of it. Also, try to figure out what's compelling you to eat those things that way you can find a way to defeat those triggers. And good for you on resisting that cake! Sometimes we have to take this new way of life just one moment at a time. You resisted this time...remember that good feeling for the next time! :hug"Only request in my behalf both inward and outward strength...that I may not merely be called a Christian, but really be found to be one." -- St. Ignatius of Antioch, Epistle to the Romans

I agree with the above. Go back to doing a strict induction to make sure you are in ketosis. Then forgive yourself and move on.
The guilt is terrible, most of us know that :anger But you can't do what's been done. Remember, what was.. was, what is.. is, and what will be... will be. Move forward and always remember how you felt when you did this.
There is an awesome pizza recipe here. Go to the recipe link above. Maybe next time if you know others are going to have it again, you can make your own so you won't feel left out... or tempted :hug

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.
You need to find some acceptable substitute when the whole office is eating crap. It happens to me all the time: we have a lunch meeting and they order pizza & non-diet soda.
Make sure you keep Atkins-friendly food at your desk even if its bars or shakes. People may laugh at you but secretly they're jealous because they don't have the power to change like you do!

In an ideal world, there would be no sugar or refined carbs anywhere and nobody would have to FIGHT to eat healthy and stay fit. Unfortunately, THIS is not the ideal world! BUT with Atkins you have the tools to empower yourself over ALL THAT GARBAGE ... we're no stronger than you, no better than you ... so take comfort in the fact that if we can succeed, YOU CAN AND YOU WILL!!
We have to learn to live with crap foods all around us and stay FOCUSED .. crap foods are cheap and available EVERYWHERE, but your health is WELL WORTH PROTECTING, so stick to foods that will make you feel great! When you are tempted, go for a walk, take a shower, brush your teeth, do your nails ...
YOU CAN DO IT!!
Drink your water!!!!

First of all, look at how far you have come !! Next time you are in the grocery store, pick up a bag of dogfood or some other bulk item with the weight printed on it and just imaging carrying an amount of weight that is equivalent to what you have lost ! I used to stack up books and boxes on my scale to develop the mental picture for myself.
If wine triggered the eating issues for you by starting down the chips and dip road, don't drink the wine and stick to what you know will be healthy. You've done a great job with the weight loss. Now move to the next phase of figuring our how you can stay the course and what your food or drink triggers may be.
Best wishes!!

I've been doing something similar over the past few months - eating right during the week and doing some sort of exercise but come the weekend I'd buy chocolate or bread rolls from the supermarket I work at during weekends and lo and behold my weight wasn't going anywhere. With all the exercise I've been doing the inches were coming off but nothing was budging on the scales.
Last weekend I said to myself that enough was enough. I have now stopped buying chocolate at the weekend and so far am down three pounds in a week. Getting under ten stone or 140 pounds for the first time in four or five years is now looking like it will happen in the next month or so and that has me very very excited. Going back to a form of induction has kickstarted my weightloss and I'm so glad I finally got my head in gear again.
Please, don't give up and don't be hard on yourself. I know how it feels but this week I am feeling so much better and my clothes feel much much looser already.
Just take it one meal at a time and cook plenty in advance so you know there is something in the fridge that you can have. I bring breakfast and lunch into work with me so I won't buy the crap available in the office canteen.

Everyone has given you such great advice already but I'll add my two cents.
First, we are here for you, always. Even when you slip up.
Second, I am the king of messing up. I probably would have been at goal already if I never strayed from plan. But I didn't and no regrets. I'm 60 pounds lighter than I was and I know that I will lose the rest. I will not allow a cheat to undo what I have acomplished so far. I will never go back to what I was. And while my strays from plan slow me down, I didn't gain it overnight. And every single day (almost) I am lighter, healthier, and happier. I have more self-confidence now, and I'm finally starting to feel good about myself physically. I'm still along way from goal but I know that I will get there eventually. And no moment of weakness is going to stop me!
You may slip and fall. But get up and NEVER QUIT! That is the key to success on this plan.Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Everyone has said everything already... but I would underline the "look forward not backward" advice. Move onward. You'll get there for sure if you stay focused on your goal! None of us is perfect and plenty have fallon off the wagon from time to time... and still gotten to goal; just maybe a little later than they could have done.
Happy low carbing!
