I got this book for $1.43 and started reading through it yesterday. It basically goes over some of the most popular low carb diets then provides ways to personalize a low carb plan for yourself.
Well it's written by a dietician, so the minute you start reading it, you find all of these recommendations for low fat stuff and the usual nutrition recommendations, most of which don't jive with a low carb lifestyle!
It has a section full of recipes, most of which sound and look yummy - HOWEVER, first thing I noticed was all of these brand name products in the recipes, that probably paid to be in the book....... and how many of them were low fat products, egg substitutes, or margarine, etc... Carb counts were decent on some things, but were not on others, IMO. Many of the recipes included things most lifetime low carbers will give up for good or at least not use often, like white bread, sugars and white flour. I kept looking at these recipes and thinking how they could be adjusted to truly fit into a low carb eating plan.
Hardly what I'd call a low carb bible, but I'm guessing most dieticians think we're nutritional heretics, sooooo.
Anyway, just in case anyone was considering adding this one to their library, that's my condensed review of it.
