Ok, I've been doing some math and need a little assistance.
My BMR is 1935, so my understanding is that I need to eat more than this but less than my active rate. So let's say 2000 calories per day.
So, if I eat 30% protein, that means 600 cals from protein, or 150 grams of protein.
When I use ttdriver's formula (from http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=74622)
I come up with 150 grams of protein. Good, same number.
When I use the .6 to .8 grams per body pound I come up with 153 to 204 grams per day.
However, I've also heard that I should be eating my body weight divided by 2 in protein grams, so that's 127.5. And I know that excess protein is converted to glucose which causes fat to be produced.
I've been thinking I've been eating too much protein when I go over the 127.5 which then restricts total calories, since if that is 30% then my max total calories would be 1700. But then that's under my BMR.
ARG! And I know some responses will be 'don't worry, just eat 65/30/5' but I am a math minded person and like to know. Ovbiously I want to be eating enough protein that I'm not losing muscle, but not so much that it converts to fat. My calories range from about 1600 to 2000 per day, but I'm now wondering if I should always be eating at the 2000 range?
Thanks y'all.
