Re: More uneducated quotes from Jessica Simpson

I was reading the title of this thread "More uneducated quotes from Jessica Simpson", personally I think its pretty unfair to make fun of someone if they say something stupid, she may have lots of money to spend on her looks and lifestyle but you can't buy intelligence, the Jessica Simpson show isn't a scientific documentary, she doesn't have to back up her comments with hard evidence. The show is a "day in the life" of Jessica Simpson, its what they made it for and thats what people want to watch, if they decided to cut everything that Jessica Simpson says that some people say isn't true they might not be left with much of a show. If anyone decides that celebs know more about something than a professional in that field they are quite welcome to take the celebs advice, personally I'd look at all the angles first before I did anything.

I really like her. She's extremely talented and I find my self having alot of respect for her and nick after watching their trip to the troops special on tv. I say dumb things all the time, so I imagine if someone was recording my every move, they could make me like unintelligent.

She is doing a wonderful job right now. I applaud her!

But I did a google image search and came up with a bunch of them...even an archived pic on CNN that looked NOTHING like her now. Amazing how a nose job and an eyelid lift can really change someone's appearance! (And in her case, for the better, though she was pretty before!)
I know, it is shocking, isn't it?

@se99: Actually, I didn't say anything about what Jessica has said in her shows. I wouldn't dare, as I have said a few completely dumb things before, and if my life were edited to show those few gem statements I would too look like a moron, when in fact, I am not. I started the thread to discuss a well-thought-out statement she made in a Glamour interview. It was an uneducated statement, and made Atkins look yet again like a crash diet and SB the perfect, lifestyle plan, when in fact, Atkins Maintainance and SB look very similar, really, so she was uneducated about what she said.

Re: More uneducated quotes from Jessica Simpson

Well I consider it 'born into fame' when her Father is more interested in her career than she is. She has explained before in MTV interviews that her father is the one that got her involved in the first place and that HE wanted it more than she did........at the time. She grew to love it and it became HER passion, but not until after her father 'showed her the ropes' (aka pushed her into it(in my opinion)). Later in the interview she laughed it off and talked about how much she loved what she's doing now. I just think that her father should have let her decide. Not say hey.....you should be a pop singer!

Just like on TV now-a-days, you see these parents pushing they kids into sports and ballet and all that and the kids have no interest. It should be there own choice, and if they're too young to decide (which is usually the case) they should give it more time to devlope and see what they enjoy in life.

I think she's hilarious as a 'real' person (and on her show), but nothing I would consider a role model.

          My opinion.....

          On with Atkins...................

In the beginning, she seemed to have SOME sense of morality. Preacher's kid, and so on. Always promoting abstinence saying we should "follow God's will for our lives". Once she got famous, both her and her dad threw morality out the window in the name of money. She looks like a prostitute these days, and I consider her a hypocrite.

Moreover, Ben Jones (aka the original "Cooter") is very much disappointed with the new Dukes movie. He branded it a "sleazy insult". I have to agree, based on the previews I have seen. >

Ah, she doesn't know one from another, I guarantee it. She just likes SBD because they are a lot more forgiving to occasionally going off plan. "It's not a cheat, it's a treat, and it's okay once in a while" was the mantra that earned me an additional 15 lbs in 3 months last summer.

Anyway, what diet isn't easy to follow when you've got your own personal trainer, nutritionist, chef, and perfect genes to begin with?

I came over to Atkins after my monumental failure with SBD. I just found that the SBD offered waaaaay too much flexibility in the plan. The things that I like about Atkins the most are its rigid structure and all-or-nothing approach. When you go off-plan, there's no sugar-coating it. It's not a 'treat', it's a cheat, and it can derail you big-time. I personally benefit from the fear of knowing that one bite WILL hurt. I gained the weight I'm on Atkins to lose FROM the South Beach Diet! They just put too much faith in my ability to police myself, and I hadn't quite earned it yet. At least with Atkins, there's no circumventing the strict discipline you absolutely must develop in order to succeed. No grey areas.

                    Goin4thin,
You can start your own thread in the Main forum so you get more replies. Congrats on doing well! A slow down in loss is very normal! It is called the post-Induction stall and happens to pert near everyone, so don't fret! You can have the carb well dressings if they are, I believe 2g carb per serving or less. I overuse dressing all the time, so I make my own now. If you like blue cheese, you might want to try stirring mayo and blue cheese crumbles together as a dressing. Be very careful of your serving size of Carb Well and other dressing because 2 T is such a tiny amount.

Also, make sure you are drinking your water! You need 64 oz PLUS 8 oz for every 25 lbs you want to lose. If you post this elsewhere you may get more help.
