NEED YR HELP! Heinz One Carb Ketchup

As devoted Atkins dieters, I know many of you do like I do, and carry a 'bag of tricks', which contains items such as a few packets of Splenda, some sugar-free Tums, some mayo & some mustard.

Well, now that Heinz has introduced their One Carb Ketchup, I think it'd be a perfect condiment to package in those nifty little individual serving packets! I would certainly carry some with me, I know there have been plenty of times when they could have come in handy!

I'm asking for everyone's help in writing to Heinz, and suggesting they offer portable packaging for their One Carb ketchup. If they hear enough of our voices, hopefully they'll listen!

I am an Atkins dieter, and I would like to thank you for introducing your One Carb ketchup with Splenda. It tastes great, and was long overdue! I would be thrilled to be able to tote a few servings around with me to have on hand when dining away from home. I think it would be a wonderful convenience to the low-carb community if you would package your One Carb ketchup in individual foil packets and sell them in supermarkets. Heinz has always been my condiment brand of choice, and if you offered a more portable packaging for your One Carb ketchup, it would instantly be a permanent staple in my household!

Good idea.

Personally, I think the One Carb Ketchup is too sweet and ruins a perfectly good hamburger patty. So I always dilute it with mayo or mustard to help kill the sweet taste.

Really? I don't find it any sweeter than the original recipe, sweetened with HFCS. In fact, over the holiday weekend, I had my best friend do a blind test (we're both big ketchup fans... in my pre-Atkins days, the both of us combined could have gone through at least 2/3 bottle just with breakfast...) point of the story is that she couldn't taste the difference either. I've since curbed my overall usage, but it's still a nice-to-have...

I like the heinze 1 carb ketchup. I dilute with mustard when having hamburgers for what my kids call that "McDonalds" taste.

And having packets would be a nice addition to my bag of tricks I keep in my car for those special occasions.

1 Carb came out when I was about 6 or 7 months into this WOE. Since I'm not a big artificial sweetener user, my tastebuds aren't used to extra sweetness that added sweeteners bring to foods. So, the first time I tasted the 1 Carb plain, it was like my tongue was coated with 3 cups of Splenda---really nasty. I figured that 1 Carb had the same sweetness of the regular ketchup--which I never thought of as "sweet".

It was an eye opening experience for me how much sugar/sweetness is added to our foods by manufacturers. It's like that fake crab meat. I tasted a small cube of that when I was on this WOE for about 6 months and had to spit it out because it tasted sickly sweet.

On the other hand, I can now taste and enjoy the natural sweetness in fruits like raspberries, which I used to have to sugar in my pre-Atkins days because they tasted too tart.

I found it! It actually exists! Of course, I had to buy a box of 500 packets, but hey, sometimes you gotta give a little to get a lot...

Shoot! I am big user of the stuff as well. Not having to carry around a ketchup bottle when we go out would be a nice thing too.
