Antibiotics

So I just got release from the hospital yesterday from an acute asthma attack....Put me on predisone which i KNOW its a given that I will blow up like a balloon, but what kinda affect does antibiotics have on this WOE? They put me to levaquin or something........ =(

some antibiotics effect blood sugars and come with a diabetic warning so look over your information that came with yours. When your immune system is inflamed it can do all kinds of stuff to your hormones when can do all kinds of stuff to your brain which can tell you "I am the Dr and I prescribe high carb foods cause I know they make you feel better" since many foods do mimic neurotransmitters and your brain has a file cabinet full of your reactions emotionally to eating every food you have ever eatten. so be ready and tell your Dr Brain you have gotten a second opionion and will not be following his advice.

My mother had to take predisone for pneumonia/asthma a few years back . the side effects of this medicine made her want to eat continently. So just be aware that steroids can do this to certain people, not all. Not saying for you to not take your prescribed medication, just be aware of this possible side effect.
My mom was even complimenting the cooks when they would bring her meals to her room. Then the cooks were bringing her even more food to eat. mom had me go the the pharmacy and buy the cooks boxes of chocolates, as a gift for all the wonderful food they were bringing to her. I knew this was strange but I did what my mom asked.
After she was thru taking the predesone, she barely remembers doing these things.
I think this is what 2big was warning you about your brain sending you signals to eat, eat, eat.

I've read that Prednisone won't affect your weight unless you're on it for more than a month which most people aren't.

The only thing about the antibiotics is that they will weaken your immune system and could cause a yeast buildup. It's important to take probiotics or something called symbiotics which have probiotics in them to build back the good bacteria. Take things like Capralin for the yeast.

Thanks everyone. I know the side affects of prednisone as im a severe asthmatic, been on and off them all my life and honestly that is what got me here, I was on them for a year, and ate everything in sight, gained 80 pounds and never it got it back off, kinda like Jerry Lewis, poor guy. Bill, just so you know they can affect people in as little as 3/5 days, causing roundness of the face, water retention and some people have experienced a 5-10 pnd weight gain in a week. Now if ya aint eatin, obviously its water... Just to shed a lil light on that subject...


As far as the antibiotics I will take them, I cant afford to keep getting sick, I just didnt know if they affected any ones weight loss, and i surely dont wanna yeast infection, so im gonna keep watch!!!
