  • Does "jiggling" preceed a whoosh?

I have been running for 9 weeks now and during the past two days my fanny has had a decided jiggle to it. This has not happened before now. I have been holding steady at 161.5 with a gain last week due to TOM up to 164.5. I feel much smaller this week got into my size 9 levis, and some size 8 gap jeans I bought a year ago on sale for when I got smaller. I don't weigh until tomorrow am, but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this phenominon(sp?) Seems like I saw this mentioned as a sign of a whoosie?

sounds like it's coming!! how TALL are you??? you must be tall... because my big butt can't come anywhere close to an 8 and I 'm down to 152.... (but I'm short)

I'm envious of the size!! and maybe it's the running thinning your lower parts.. lol.....

      congrats!!

Yeah!! Fingers are crossed. I am 5'7". I am pretty well proportioned. I do have "chubby" arms and cheeks tho. I think I am thick boned or something, because I always look smaller than my weight. When I was pregnant with my first son I had a really embarassing moment due to this. The nurse weighed me on one of my check ups and I was like 208. She put it in the chart and took me to the room to wait for the doc. The doc came in and looked at the chart then at me and said "This can't be right lets go check it again." Well we did and it was right!! How humiliating to have to do that twice in one visit!!!! -- Then of course I was lectured to not gain any more weight. When I left I felt like everyone of those thin nurses was laughing at me. (I am sure they weren't, but between hormones and being self consious that is what I thought at the time.)

Also it is a tight squeeze. Although no pliers were involved, I wouldn't wear them out in public quite yet. (uh mam, you are scaring the children.) My hubby really enjoyed watching walk proudly around the house in them!!!

Re: Does "jiggling" preceed a whoosh?

I concur ~ This is exactly what always happened to me - it was like a cycle...it started with waking up one day when everything would look noticably "smoother" and smaller- but no changes on the scale to speak of...this would last for a little while, then one day the mirror would reflect a whole new jiggly looking me - the first time, it was disconcerting to say the least...but since the scale didn't go up, I pressed on...then always within a few days...2-5 pounds would be gone along with the jiggly look and feel and the cycle would begin again...I had not ever noticed anything like that happening when I was losing on a low-fat, low calorie program, so it seemed strange...but I sure came to enjoy (for lack of a better word) those jiggly days every few weeks! Congrats to you!! You'll have to let us know when the fairy pays her visit! ~Kyle

Re: Does "jiggling" preceed a whoosh?

5"7... I"m barely 5'4...... and I have thin arms and legs I guess.... mine is in the MIDDLE

I have no waist... I'm thick... lol....

in a way that's good because in the right jumper etc... my arms and legs look pretty thin... so it was easier to hide the blob underneath...

I'm still jealous of your jean size though.. (my 38 waist ones fit ok now.... 36 is still a little snug... ).. I wear men's sized jeans because I have no waist.. and ladies sizes are bigger in the butt ... so to get ladies jeans that don't cut my waist in pieces... the butt is so big they sag.... I'm not built for women's jeans..

Well I don't have the sagging jean problem. My hubby is a butt man, and I satisfy in that area for sure!!! That is why it was so weird that that particular area was jiggly. I have always had a nice elevated firm fanny. Jeez that sounds arrogant. If it helps I have small boobs!! My family is just built solid. My four year old looks like he is six (not just to us, according to the pediatric growth charts he is the size of a six year old as well), but he is not just tall or chubby, he is well proportioned and solid!! --I'm a brick---house. Well I will check back in with you all tomorrow to see if the whoosh fairy paid me a visit. I am really excited by what you all have said and will most likely sleep with my fingers crossed!!!

Well if I had a wooshie every time there was jiggling going on I'd be a size 0 in no time.

Only half a pound down from last week. 164. Where oh where are you miss fairy? I think I am at a muscle build point in my running? Maybe? I am not friends with the scale at the moment, it doesn't want me to do my happy dance when I see a weight in the 150's. That is not very nice. No no no!!! All I can do is keep on truckin' If you see her send her to my house.
