      Re: I finished my First 10 k

Thank you all so much for all the support and positve feedback and to all of you who gave me reps points. I cna't thank you enough and I feel better then ever. Hoever I can tell you I am more sore today then I have ever been but, it's all good and makes me want to work even harder for my next goal to reach my goal weight and run a half marathon next year which I know I will do. I am unstoppable at this point and belive in myself so much so that I would tackle almost anythjing. With this new outlook it's a wonderful feeling and I feel more proud of myself then I ever have cause I did somehting I never thought I would and I finished it something I never would have attempted 8 months ago.

You can do it if you put your mind to it.

Hey, it's all worth it posting if I can inspire one person to do something they never thought possible or Just stay on track through a hard day then I am truely blessed to be the person who had that type of impact on another. What a great feeling knowing you or I have help even one person by doing something that makes us feel great about ourselves. If I can do it so can you.

What training plan did you use?

                    Re: I finished my First 10 k

Hey I didn't really have much of a training plan I increased my milage by 10% almost every weeks some I could do but, you're body will tell you that you just keep increasing slowly and soon you'll be up to 10K and can't belive how fast it was.

I was only running for 7 minutes when I started at 255 pounds that's all I could do. As the weight came off I increased more and more 30 minutes was my top for a while as my body adjusted that was 2 miles then I added another 1/2 mile I think it was actually 3 weeks later cause my body wasn't ready yet and so on and so on. Now I'm at the 10 k some days it's really hard for me to get it done other days it's like I can run for hours.

A great mentor of mine told me not to attempt to run a 10 k until you can consistantly run for 1 hour. That was great advice.

                      Re: I finished my First 10 k

I'd like to run for longer distances but I run so slow that I run out of time.

My long run is around 10K and it's taking 1:45. (running purposefully slower to keep HR down)

That is soo excellent don't scoff at that that is wonderful you can do a 10 k WOW you're sooo awesome. It takes time as the weight comes off the speed will increase and so will everything elese. I don't run very fast either I am very slow it's all good though if you can do it then you are doing better then most cause most won't even attempt it. My hat is off to you.

                        YOU ROCK!!
