  • I have a problem

I was finally back up on my feet on Atkins after camping over a week ago, and I was doing good for a week. Sunday, (after losing the support of my boyfriend who went off Atkins after only a couple days), I finally blew it by having a Chinese food dinner. I thought, oh I'll just back on the next day.. I can get back on track. No, I had a breakfast with french toast and hashbrowns.

I have another chance today... but I dunno if I can bring myself to it. I really KNOW where I want to be but I don't want to have to worry about food the rest of my life.

I am mainly worrying that I am re-inducting too many times. I have to get back into ketosis to start again. I'm afraid that I am playing with how my body works too much and this just won't work anymore and I wouldn't even lose weight anyway.

Do you think it's too late and I have no chance anymore? :/

    Re: I have a problem

NO it's never too late! Things move slowly for you because you don't have that much to lose. And while cheating every once in awhile is okay for some people, it's a disaster for me. But I still do it and I get back on eventually even though it's hard. We have to be able to cheat at one meal or one dessert and continue with our lifestyle. But if you can't do that then try to refrain from cheating. I need to do the same thing. I broke down last friday because I had to skip lunch for work and was so hungry that I ate the most easy thing to grab which was cookies and I fell down hill until yesterday I restrained myself from sweets (my weakness) and will stick with it!

You know what, maybe you're right...

But like one person said, I am just worried about messing up my metabolism. I don't wanna **** off my body and it be all like "Hmph! I'm not doing ANYTHING for YOU anymore."

      But maybe I'll try again.

      I can do this.

        EnchantedRasin,

FYI your thread that announced your DETERMINATION to "go off" this WOE is the most responded to thread in the main forum. This says that many people are concerned for you and your continued success. You have gotten yourself back on your addiction (sugar) and it will require the same DETERMINATION to get back on track that you used to toss off all your hard work. I do not mean to sound harsh but that is the truth and we are all pulling for you - its your jale' chica.

I have another chance today... but I dunno if I can bring myself to it. I really KNOW where I want to be but I don't want to have to worry about food the rest of my life.
If you follow all the Atkins phases you will find that by the time you reach maintenance that you will probaly be making Atkins decisions without thinking about it as you will have taught your body how to do it right
So just jump back on and get back into ketosis then move to OWL and start discovering how the various foods in the OWL rung affect you and learn what your CCLL is.
Lots of people seem to think they cannot move on until they have done a completely 'clean' 2 weeks of induction and so have to keep returning back to day one to 'get it right', when what they ought to do is carry on with as clean an induction that they can manage and then start OWLing
Forgive yourself and get back on induction now.
Atkins can be a steep learning curve but you are learning and will succeed in time.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Boy you look great in that bikini! I think I see some abs! I still don't really have any.

You're doing great, I'm wondering if your plan is too restrictive.
Are you on OWL? You should be if not pre-M.
Also if you up the workouts you can get away with a few more carbs & still lose...it's really sort of a balancing act. You want to eat more foods but not go overboard. I've found that if I eat well during the week, I can eat maybe one higher (not hi) carb meal over the weekend and still lose/maintain.

Pardon me, but I think the camping experience set you back. But you are not doomed to permanent failure until you quit trying.

So get off the pity party and get on the wagon. Today is new day. Will yourself to succeed and succeed you will.

                  AND NEXT TIME, NO CHEATS.

                        Re: I have a problem

yup I remember your camping thread ER. I did not respond but my thoughts were.......this girl gonna blow it on her camping trip. You know what's funny though? When I go camping its actually easier to stay on plan (except for the booze of course) but I always take loads of meat. We have huge BBQ's at around 11:00a.m. and put the food in containers it's easy to munch all day. Actually with the water skiing I do and the on plan eating I was actually able to lose weight on many trips.

One of our favorites is taking up hard boiled eggs frying hot links and eating those together. My kids will munch on it all day. My 16yo is my little Atkid....I'm so proud of her she's becoming a great cook as well!

Anyway, enough of me. Ask yourself this "Do you really know where you want to be as you stated?" If you know the answer to that question, you'll get back on plan without excuses. You can do this.
