  • Unknown Territory...

    Hi folks

I have hit a spell where I am shedding pounds like nobody's business and I'm delighted but also nervous. I'm now back down to the weight I was when I started my current job 3 and 1/2 years ago and that's great. And it looks like I may be under ten stone (or under 140lbs) pretty soon which will be just great as I haven't been that light in about nine years or so. I'm heading into what feels to me like unknown territory where I am going to be fitting into clothes I've not been able to get into for YEARS (tried on a size 14 skirt last night that I've not worn in ages and it FITTED although just a little tight on the tummy but it's wearable!)

Does anyone have any hints/tips/suggestions for how you handle this situation? My goal is to lose another thirty pounds although I could probably stand to lose a further stone on top of that but I'll see how I feel at the time. Because I'm small the weightloss is much more noticeable on me than it might be on taller women and I anticipate that by the autumn I'll be seeing numbers on my scales and on the inchtape that I've not seen in well over a decade, maybe two.

The last thing I want is to mess this up and so any advice as to how you don't panic when you really start to BELIEVE that your goal weight is achievable would be very very gratefully appreciated.

I'm taking it slowly as far as finding my CCLL goes because I don't want to find that I eat something and wreck all my hard work.

Welcome to the best wol anyone could ever offer! Take those losses and enjoy them. A piece of advice that I have is Exercise now so that your new shape REALLY takes shape. Keep moving forward you are doing splendidly. Don't forget to re-read the owl section and memorize it. Add your 5 gr. in veggies first then strawberries/raspberries then nuts. Take it slowly when you add so that you are not scratching your head wondering what stalled you. But also please remember, you may stall just so that your little (and at 4'7" my friend you are little) body can catch up to what in the heck this new change is!

        Embrace it
        Use it
        or lose it
Make it a happy low carb life!

              Re: Unknown Territory...

I have been doing a lot more exercise over the past few months than I've done in years - long walks are possible and I'm not so out of breath. It is going to take time to get the mental side right and yes I do have a lot of selfdoubt but have been working on that for a while too and I'm definitely a lot better than I was!

As far as buying new clothes go - can't afford new things so am going to get much looser things taken in so I can still enjoy them but they'll fit me better and be a good incentive not to let things go to blazes.

Fawn, thanks for that tip about the fact that my height may mean I stall more - will bear it in mind!

You must have mis-understood me. It is not a known fact that your height will have anything to do with a stall. A stall happens generally when one loses a large amount of weight in a short period of time such as what happens on induction. Thereafter, your body needs to catch up to what just happened it's like "uh-oh......we're losing fat! Better slow down or we might be cold this winter" "what's going on" "where's our comfort fat??" You know what I mean??

I was just commenting on 4'7" being little in general. Soon you'll be shopping in the Jr. section of the department store!! Happy low carbing. Oh and hey you....feel good about yourself. Look what you are accomplishing! You should be very proud for making these changes.
