  • Found a great new exercise

Well, exercise yes, but not too enjoyable. I decided to help out my Dh today and cut the grass.. Well, he has been complaining about how bad his lawn mower is, and I just ignored him. Today I got to see first hand. I cut the front yard in the 93 degree weather with a push mower with broken wheels. I mean the thing won't even roll..you gotta put your body weight into it to make it move. My neighbor was laughing at me trying to make the thing move. My hubby told me last Saturday he weighed himself before and after cutting the grass and lost 4 pounds..guess he sweated out alot of water. I can hope that maybe my hard work will get me a little whooshie and it helped out my sweet hubby is always helping me!!

Gardening is exercise. Don't hold me on this but I think it's categorized as "moderate exercise"

From personal experience, I can honestly tell you that lifting and carrying 40 pound bags of top soil up a small enbankment, ain't easy! Nor is hoeing or digging. Pruning (if you do it with hand tools) is a great upper body workout: shoulders, arms, wrist, and back all get worked. When I do my gardening, I feel muscles that my exercise routine don't effect.

You not only get a good workout, you also get a nice looking yard and garden.

Oops! Sounds like it's time to get it fixed or new a new mower.
It might have been a hard workout, but with a newer mower you'll be able to cut the whole lawn very often and have fun doing it!

I'm the mower in our family. I love mowing! It's good exercise and I get the instant satisfaction of seeing a nice lawn when I'm done. I also sweep our driveway and sidewalks when I get done mowing. It usually takes me about 2 1/2 hours to get it all done. That's a good work out!

I wish I had a lawn to mow. Stupid condo with no land!!

Sometimes I wonder what the people in our society 100 years ago would think if they saw us today. They'd see us driving through the drive-through to get breakfast, standing in an elevator to get to our 2nd floor office, having lunch delivered to the office, sitting in our chairs all day emailing the people 10 feet away, driving back home after work, shutting our car doors with the buttons on our keychains, then going to the gym to walk in place on a treadmill for an hour.

Does anyone else think this is weird?

                Yup, I do, hehe.
I thought about that so often, it is very very weird.
