I have been maintaining a 50 pound fat loss for over 5 1/2 years..
I follow protein power, not atkins, but it's lowcarb and it works.

WOW... First of all... Way to go! Did I read right, that you lost over a hundred pounds in 5 months? My sister just joined Weight Watchers, and she has to lose 100 pounds. THey told her she should expect to have it lost in a year and a half to two!

Think this happens a lot with fitness trainer folks, because so much of the fitness industry uses oatmeal, brown rice, etc, from the get go... greeat for lifetime maintenance, if you can tolerate that many carbs... but all the serious magazines, M&F, Hers, Oxygen, even Energy, back before Low Carb Energy, all started the day with 1 cup oatmeal, and at dinner had brown rice or a yam or baked potatoe in it... glycogen stores for muscle recovery, etc etc.

Just my observation that, for the world at large, if they see someone who was successful that is on Atkins, they are more open, than someone trenched in the weight loss or fitness industry. And it just goes to show how stereotyping and bad press has put such a negative connotation with Atkins, where as, if you just outline it for them, they say, oh! Whole healthy, non sugared processed foods! Great plan!

I just really wanted to say again, CONGRATS! You are doing great!!!!

        Blessings....

Hey how are you "Woman Praised!" Thanks for your post! I appreciate your kind words. Let me clarify my weight loss though. I originally lost 40 pounds from January 2004 to June of 2004 and then maintained until January of 2005 when I got serious about induction again. Since January of "05" I have lost approximately 80 lbs. So it had been over about an 18 month period of time.

          Blessings!
