  • Back to the basics

Hi Peeps, just to let you all know that I survived my 'holiday' (it was al too busy for it being a real holiday)
So.....I got married, went on honeymoon, we found ourselves a new home etc etc.
Now we are back in the Netherlands and monday we're off to Amsterdam for filing the visa for me.
(To those who don't know me, I am dutch and my hubby is US, I am in the process of moving over to the US)
With all the traveling and everything it was quite hard to keep exactly to the rules (on top of that the food is different overthere to me, so that was hard to get used to as well, although of course it is not for nothing I am on this board and not on a dutch one)
Not that I really cheated, but I didn't really pay attention like to the exact amount of vegetables I was eating.
I have had 2 glasses of white wine on my weddingday and 2 bottles of low carb beer to party when we got our appartment.
All in all the damage: I gained 1 pound since exactly a month ago !!!!
Now it is back to basics for a while and then I will start OWL

Actually I am quite proud of myself that I did so well !!!

    Re: Back to the basics

If all you did was overeat vegetables, then you did just fine! You already know about what alcohol does to your system, but you made correct choices in what to drink, so no worries there as well.

Congrats on becoming a Mrs. and all happiness to you and your husband and your big move to the States!

Wow, a one pound gain is fan-flippin-tastic!

        Congrats on the marriage!

I married a Canadian and we did the whole visa thing too. He finally got his 10 year green card a few months ago, so we're done dealing with INS for awhile (er.. I guess it isn't INS anymore, it's USCIS or something )

                    Re: Back to the basics

                    Thanks all you sweeties !!!!!
To me it was no big deal at all not eating the cake, but Chris's mum was kinda insulted, she thought it bad luck that we didn't eat it..........my sweetheart who is not on Atkins stuck with me and didn't eat it either, so we only cut the thing and left it to that.

As a treat, here is a pic of me and my hubby :
