I am usually the first one bitten by mosquitos when sitting outside on a summer night. Since starting this WOE they don't bite me. I have been camping twice this summer - no bites. Sitting in my backyard tonight the neighbors had to go home because they were being bitten up. Not one touched me. They must like sugar in the blood. This is one very nice side effect! Has anyone else noticed this?

They still like to bite me. Drat! Maybe I should back down to induction and test this out.

Re: A strange side effect of this WOE!
I am such the mosquito magnet. I did notice it was perhaps less now than previous years, but I still am one of those that swell up with each stinking bite. An interesting test would be going to skeeter heaven the swamps of Minnesota and then checking for any mosquito resistence. Usually I use enough DEET to make your lips numb on those camping trips.Kent - 35-M-6'4"

I must be the lucky one! Yeah! I just wonder what has changed in my body chemistry that they don't like (less sugar in the blood, smell of ketones)? I have not been bit all summer. I once considered moving from Michigan to California because of Mosquitos!!Michele SW250/CW 226/GW150 F, 38, 5'6"

Yeah! I noticed that too, when I was in induction. No bites at all. Since I moved to OWL though... they started up again. Before and after:

Re: A strange side effect of this WOE!
They are pesky little creatures. I'm not sure if this is researched proof, I cook with garlic and that seems to make the bites of masquitos more tolerable...they bite we don't get the big welts from being allergic to the stinger being in our body from the blood sucking pest. Dunno...like I said, not researched proof but sure works for us.

Hum...I was curious to know if you've eaten more garlic lately?
My Dad used to tell us that he didn't get bite due to his eating garlic and it coming out through your skin. (Or taking garlic pills.)
Could that help? What do you think?~Kat

I don't eat garlic much at all, so that's not it for me. Interesting though. If they start bugging me again I will have to try the garlic.Michele SW250/CW 226/GW150 F, 38, 5'6"

I noticed that too, actually. I usually am the first one to get bit, and so far I really haven't much this summer. Just once, on my CHEEK of all places.
Ever wonder why Noah didn't just swat at the two mosquitoes he had on his ark?__________________________________________________

Mosquitoes are attracted to a person's key chemical signatures found in the release of carbon dioxide; it has been found that this can be due to lactic or fatty acids emitting from the CO2 signature. In other words, Linda, you're pretty fly in their eyes!Sheila, Founder of SugarFreeSheila.com
