Ok so what's the story with Tom? All I know is that he's the owner of this site and that he only posts when necessary. So what's his story? Does he follow the Atkins WOL? How much did he lose? Does he ever participate in any discussions? Inquiring minds want to know....ok, maybe just me...I wanna know.

Re: Tom
I can tell you one thing. Tom rarely ventures down into Chit Chat.
Sure, he follows Atkins. He also runs several other Diet boards. And, most of his discussions are with the staff of ADBB.
If you post a question to him on the Main Boards he'll likely respond.

Re: Tom
Oh you dont want me posting ....
I am the most controversial of all posters ...
My tale goes way back to a distanct decade of the 90s, early 90s in fact, during which time I lost 100 lbs doing the atkins diet.
At that point I was in college and decided to put up a "world wide web page" about the atkins diet. I am not sure but I think that this was the first atkins web page as I dont think that atkins himself has a web page yet and really there were not that many web pages period.
Well the web site one day started getting people visiting it then some more ... before I realized hundreds of people were reading the story of how I lost the 100 lbs.
( later in the 90s ) My friend recommended that I start up a mailing list server which I did and one of the lists I started was the atkins list. Well little by little that list grew into a monster. with I think 5000 people and probably over 100 emails a day sent out.
(around 2000 ) I was approached by a web site that wanted to archive my mailing lists for me. I agreed.
( around 2002 short story ) However little by little they used the archive as a one directional link to their site. All of the links back to where the original emails came from were removed. He then created a BB for the people that came to see the archive.
( early 2003) The mailing list archiver and I had some words so I opened up atkinsdietbulletinboard.com this took off like a rocket and grew so quickly that the server couldnt handle it ... we has some growth issues ( I wont go into detail here ) ...
but didsome upgrades here and there and met some great people along the way.
( present ) upgraded to vbulletin ( thanks to elleth (jackye ), dawn, perry( bob ), betty and everyone else who helped with the move .
( future ) ???? this dpends on us.
As far as my history with the diet. The orignal weight loss was great. I went from 280 -> 180. I learned many things and one thing I did learn is that if you go back to your original way of eating you will gain the weight back!!! so I did.
I went on and off again and when I am on I lose when I am off I gain.
I started running in 2003 and that was a great success. I was running up to 16 miles and was planning for the 2004 philadelphia marathon but I had a baby last october and not to say that was the reason for me to stop running but I was busy with the new born and didnt run. So I am trying to get back into things again. For one thing I know that Atkins works. It has been me that failed in the times that I gain weight. As soon as I go back on atkins I lose the weight. Currently I am back on and doing great.
Well not sure if I answered any of your questions but I got my chance to ramble in the spotlight!
