I had to attend a work related seminar this afternoon. I ate my lunch before I went in case there wouldn't be any acceptable food. My tactic worked because other than the diet soda and the fruit salad, there wasn't: croissant sandwiches with either tuna or chicken salad, potato salad, potato chips, pretzels, Doritos, cookies, and three kinds of mini-tarts and ice cream.
Anyhow, I got my strawberries and my cup of ice (I brought a bottle of water with me just in case) and sat down behind two women. One woman asked the other how the sandwiches were. The woman replied they were very good and the lemon tart was delicious.
The first woman replied, "That's good. When I picked up the food, I just went up and down the aisles thinking 'If I weren't diabetic and fat, what would I buy for lunch.'"
By the way, this woman was eating a green salad with a grilled chicken breast with a bottle of water on the side.
My first thought was "Ouch! She doesn't think too highly of the folks here at the seminar if she bought us crapola and got good stuff for herself." My second thought was "Well, at least she knows what really makes good food."
