It never ceases to amaze me that eventhough the Diet supplies the USDA's recommended 3-5 vegetable servings daily during Induction, it's still not enough vegetables for the critics. Just shows how ill-educated these people are about the diet.
Anyhow, it doesn't surprize me that Atkins Nutritionals filed for bankruptcy----you don't need all that crapola they've been peddling in order to do this diet effectively and properly.
from one who does partake of the 'franken' foods once in a while... it's not wonder they're bankrupt.... the taste of EVERY Atkins product I've tried (except the mint wafer things) simply SUCK.... even the yogurt, the shakes, the breakfast bars....
the market for low carb foods is BOOMING!! (read a Muscle and Fitness mag or visit GNC or something)... but other companies are excelling in the products... EAS has AWESOME low carb bars..... so does Slimfast, CArb Options shakes are good... etc. etc..
I think they're going down because aside from bad management.. the taste of their stuff is simply awful.
I'm glad they cited his cause of death as resulting in "injuries he suffered in a fall," and not, "Atkins is going bankrupt after dying of diet-related heart trouble."
The only Atkins product I have tried at the Endulge Ice Cream bars. They are prety good but everything else yuck! I even tried the pancake mix good god that was horrible. I usually cannot afford the ice creams bars though $4.99 for 4 bars is much too expensive. Thanks to Breyer's, Edy's and Blue Bunny I never had to resort to paying three prices for my treat.
