    Re: trying to come back

    Hi Beth!

First of all, I want to say WELCOME BACK! *hugs* You're doing the right thing by trying to come back and confronting your problem.

I was in the same dilemma a few days ago. I just restarted induction for the second time on Saturday, and I wasn't quite sure how to get back into it. It seemed like such a challenge. But you know what? The simple answer is, "Just do it." Prepare yourself, go shopping for the right foods and stock up on your meats and green veggies... get some splenda and cream and things to snack on. If you're sparse on ideas, I recommend going to the "recipes" section" here...

Read the book again if you can. And, just do it.

We're all rooting for you. I also highly recommend stopping by the "Second Time Around Club" forum... for all of us previously experienced Atkineers.

    Good luck!

      Re: trying to come back

Hi Beth! Welcome back! As mentioned by Kittie, come stop by the STAC forum for additional second time around support.

My thought would be that you are getting hungry and eating non-induction foods before your next meal. Is that what is happening? If so, my big suggestion would be to pre-plan your heart out! This is my major downfall. Not pre-planning. If you work and know that you'll be hungry two hours before lunch, pack an atkins friendly snack. I bring two snacks for the day. One for mid-morning and one for mid-afternoon. This really helps. If I'm not hungry, I'm less likely to binge. That is the great thing to about this woe. You do not have to starve yourself.

You are going to do GREAT!

Really good advice already - it is true that "Failing to plan is planning to fail!"
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

            Re: trying to come back

I know (from experience) it is very hard to get back on track after a cheat. Take it one day at a time, one second at a time if you have to. After a cheat, I always try to eat a little bit more fat than usual and drink a lot more water so I feel full. How bad do you want this? You can do this! We are here to support you.
