  • Where to find the best nuts online (for gifts)

My mom's birthday is coming up and I wanted to send her some nuts. Need some ideas on sites that you guys have personal experience with, since some of those mail order ones are just crap.

    Thanks!

As for macadamias and kind, personal service from the heart I can recomemnd www.smithfarms.com - the owners grow organic kona coffee and organic macadamias in Hawaii and are a very very friendly people. Terrific coffee, too. I was amazed at the ease of shipping to Europe, customs & all included, and the macadamias are to die for.

Swiss colony or Figi's. (Both have websites to look, order, or request a catalog). I use these during the holidays and everyone loves what I give.

You know what's weird? I went to this site to check out the macadamias, and they have this scrolling banner that reads:
"Macadamias are on the ATKINS diet as a FREE FOOD!"
What does that mean? There are no "free foods" on Atkins anyway. Did I read the wrong book?

No, there are no 'free' foods with Atkins. Perhaps they're referring to an earlier version of the plan. Most likely, they're making it up. One of our local BBQ places states their broccoli and cheese casserole is 'carb free', which it clearly can't be. ****, a cardboard cutout wouldn't even be carb free because of the fiber.

I'd have to put my vote in for Harry & David as well. I received a gift basket from my sister earlier this month (low carb stuff...my sis is awesome) and it contained a bag of mixed nuts. It was really really good!

                  Yup it was this... http://www.harryanddavid.com/cgi-bin...tegory_sel=230

I had my husband take the pears to his work. I don't care for pears at all. The salmon was great and the cheeses and sausage were really good. I finally got my GED last month (put off education for my kids) and I got it with honors so she decided to send me something special. She's an awesome sister!
