  • Need an INDUCTION-friendly dessert!

    I don't eat jello, that's gross!

I have splenda, cream cheese, whipping cream, eggs, butter, cinnamon.... what can I possibly make and eat in the next hour?

I'm seriously considering the Kemp's lc ice cream... but that is sooo not induction! It is lc, but not on induction obviously!

I have had no cravings for sweet things, and for some reason I'm going NUTS tonight!

    Any help?

    Kimberly

oh my gosh, that is SO gross! LOL

I might seriously make myself resist. I don't want to go off induction.... I haven't had a drop of any sweetener (splenda/sweet'n'low) and I kinda want to get through induction without any....

        Okay I figured it is better to have something legal than freak out and eat a cup of sugar ;

So I have some cream, cream cheese, splenda, and cinnamon that I whipped and put in the freezer.

In an hour, if I am still craving it, I will eat it.

Happy to help you out here, darlin':

          1. If you mix equal amounts of cream cheese and sour cream, and add some vanilla extract and splenda, you get a pudding that tastes exactly like cheesecake.

          2. If you take a tiny amount of whipping cream and add cocoa powder and splenda and whip it up, it is chocolate mousse.

          3. If you mix some cream cheese with some canned pumpkin and some pumpkin pie spice and splenda, you get something a lot of people like that I have never tried.

          4. If you take some butter and some cocoa powder and splenda and flax seed meal and melt it all together and form it into balls and chill, you have sort of a fudgie thingy.

            thanks finelly!

            I'll keep those in mind!

This is *DELICIOUS* and totally hit the spot. I don't think 1 tsp of splenda will kill me either! LOL

I think Friday night will be "dessert night" and I will make a lc dessert. Then I can enjoy them, with limits, occasionally.... and have something to look forward to for the weekend

              Good planning, Kimberley
But be careful to keep a lookout for sweetener-triggered cravings which some people have reported experiencing, even after eating 'legal' desserts.

Talking of cravings for sweet stuff - can you think of anything different you ate recently that might have triggered the current craving?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Thanks for posting this - I bought a jar of Splenda before I went on hols and once I'd got it I hadn't a clue what to do with it!

I wondered about that too Elizellen.

I had a good dinner, but it had been several hours and I had taken the kids up to the pool and run around quite a bit and not eaten anything. Had an early dinner at 3:30, when dh got home from work. And it is TOM, and I think the combo just triggered it.

Dinner was buffalo chicken (chicken dipped in red-hot) and a salad.

TOM causes intense chocolate cravings in me. I make a version of 2Big's chocolate blobs---I mix cream cheese, cocoa powder and some DaVinci's sugar-free syrup (it's made with liquid Splenda, which has less carbs, and comes in a rainbow of yummy flavors). I drop it into blobs on waxed paper, then freeze. Once frozen I keep them in a ziploc bag in the freezer. When those cravings hit, I suck on a blob. The combination of fat and cocoa powder really hit the spot, and most of the time just one or two see me through.

Speaking of fat, I've heard many times that when cravings hit, eating something with fat in it can help diffuse them. I believe there's a member who keeps boiled eggs in her fridge for just this reason...

I seriously do this all the time!
I take protein powder, cream, egg, soymilk, and SF vanilla as a base then add different stuff dependin on what I have.
Usually banana (NOT induction friendly) or other fruit, cocoa powder, sometimes cream cheese. I'll even throw in a couple shots of Espresso!
I wouldn't call it a "snack" but more like a liquid breakfast before a big workout.
I also have some rum extract & a nutmeg grinder so I can make soy eggnog this way.

I guess I am immune to anything sounding nasty - I'll truly try anything! lol

Try making an Induction-friendly Mock Pumpkin Cheesecake: via microwave, soften to desired heat one 3-ounce cube of cream cheese, a bit of canned pumpkin, and a pinch of ground cinnamon. Preparation is quick, to the point, tasty, and there's even a bit of fiber in there!

So, how much is a bit of pumpkin? I want to try this with my low-carb daughter. She's dying for me to show her how to make low-carb treats but I'm a clutz in the kitchen.

I made the pumpkin/cream cheese thing awhile back. I used equal amounts, but you can play around with it and see what you like. I didn't measure the spices, I just kept tasting it until I thought it was perfect. I used one package of splenda and some pumpkin pie spice.

Great job avoiding temptation! If I ate dinner that early I would still need to eat something else small around 6:00. Eating something high fat really does help curb cravings, try it.

Another great idea is to make a regular pumkin pie. Follow any recipe and sub cream for evaporated milk and splenda for the sugar. I make a crust with ground almonds, splenda and butter.
