  • A little depressed!

    Hey all! Usually I am a "look on the bright side" kind of gal! However, today there were some circumstances that transpired and they left me a little depressed!

    Well, my point is this! I feel like eating to fill the void/empty/uncomfotable feelings! But...I am choosing to surf the ADBB site instead of stuffing my face!

    I know I will wake tomorrow struggling with the same heaviness in my heart. If anyone would like to throw me a few words of encouragement and advice to help get this emotional eater through this "down time," I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks for letting me vent! (Instead of eat!)

    I totally Know how you feel. Life sometime hits us at our weakest moments and those are the moments that we need to prevail and be as strong as we can be. Look back to what you have come from and see what all that nastie food used to do to every single part of your life. You lived for it, you ate for comfort, you ate for fun everything was about food. Now look at you, you have come through the tornado and crossed the bridge to the edge of the place where you want to be, do you go back to what you were, feeling miserable feeling lonely depressed, or do you stare that nasty crap in the eye give it a few choice words throw it out with all the rest of the crap that's going on and Move forward. You have come way too far to look back to the way you were, you have come to far to let your temptations overcome you. If you win this you'll be across the bridge and in the calm waters once again. I know you can do it, your an INSPIRATION, you have lost 126 pounds that's how much 3 of my six year old weighs. HOLLY cow That is absoulutely WONDERFUL< INCREADIBLE, LOOK AT you go. Keep going let the thunder roll cause you are on Fire and you're going to WIN this fight and get all the way to goal.

      Think about all the people in your life that love you, feel that love flow through you like a warm wave starting at the top of your head and moving all the way down to your toes, fill yourself up with love, it's much better than food. Here is a hug from me!

        Well, I'm starting to think it's something in the atmosphere. A bunch of people over in the Second Time Around Forum have been experiencing the EXACT SAME THING. Everything from "blah" to "I'm depressed".

        You are doing exactly the right thing by posting. Write about it, talk about it, that's the way to get through it. You are choosing NOT to stuff it down with food, but to let it out.

        Remember: This, too, shall pass. You will not feel like crap forever. Just as our body goes through phases, so do our souls and hearts. And, because we are human, every time we make a major change in our lives, and have some success, there's a nasty little part of us that says stupid things like "Change back" and "no, this isn't good enough". Which makes you want to eat.

        Hang in there. Take a short walk, drink some water, indulge in something high fat to make you feel satisfied. Write, talk, cry, laugh, FEEL those feelings until they go away.

        I'm sending positive thoughts your way......

          Look what you've accomplished!!! WOWZER!! What an inspiration you are!! You've worked hard and it shows!!! Be proud of your success and know that there's NOTHING you can't do when you put your mind to it!!

            Isthin! You are such a marvel for not giving in to emotional eating! If I'd followed your example, I'd never have messed up over the last 3 months and wouldn't have to get back on track (again)!

            Stick with it! Emotions are momentary. Go sniff some chocolate or a baked loaf of bread without eating it. You'll feel better! (I just sniffed a cookie this morning and oooooh... ahhhhhh.... do I feel better!)

              Is there some way you can take bestest care of yourself, spoil yourself, nurture yourself and treat yourself real nice (that doesn't involve misusing food)

                Here's a hug for you. We all have bad days. All you can do is just try to concentrate on all the positives in your life to help you through this rough time. Think of your family, friends, all of the weight that you have lost! (WOW) Try to remember how you felt when you started out. How you were treated, how tired you were, what it felt like when you had to carry around all the weight. Why don't you treat yourself to something that you haven't done in a long time like catch a movie, go get a new haircut, just get out and go to a park, call a friend that you haven't talked to in awhile.

                I admire you for sticking to your woe. I only hope that I can do as well as you have.

                    When I'm feeling down I like to take a nice warm bath. I light candles, put on music, lock the door and just melt in the water. Then I give myself a facial, do my nails, or whatever helps make me feel better. Sometimes a good walk helps too. I hope the stress lifts away soon. What is that slogan for Calgon. Calgon take me away!!!

                      Hey all of you precious ADDB'ers! I am sitting here at my computer literally choking back tears as I am typing this message! I cannot believe how wonderful you all are to me! When I logged on tonight for encouragement, I hoped to have received a message, or maybe two. But WOW...9! All full of loving, caring, helpful advice! I seriousally cannot express to all of you how touched and blessed I feel! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, for caring about a stranger out in cyber space. You all have pulled me through a tough time and I love you all for it! Thanks to you... I will come through this bump on the road of life without binging on food! This is major for me! You have helped me gain the courage to exercise this evening instead of eat! Bless you and thank you all for caring enough about me to post. Please know you are all being prayed for tonight by an extremely thankful fellow ADDB'er who is blessed to have found you all here on the "net."
