For the last 2 weeks I have been getting soooo sleepy between 1:30 and 4:00. I get plenty of sleep. I feel like I could lay down and sleep the rest of the day. Unfortunately this is not a good time of the day for me to lay down and sleep. I very seldom ever get this way. I even decided to cut my walks down from 3 miles to 2 miles now that I am working out at the gym too. I just started doing to the gym this past Monday. Is this happening to anyone else?

Re: Sleepy...Zzzzz
What's your carb intake like? If you are on Induction you may well benefit by making sure you consistently get up to the 20 carb limit...and if you are done your initial first two weeks of Induction, consider going to the first rung of OWL where you add 5 carbs worth of veggies...you can stay at this rung for a while if you like, it doesn't mean that you need to keep progressing, especially if you are at the beginning of your Atkins journey.
I had lots of fatigue in the beginning, and while I never really experienced that 'burst of energy' that others report, I did get over the fatigue.
Cutting down your walking and adding in the gym work might help balance this out. Please do keep up the exercise though!

Re: Sleepy...Zzzzz
The first time I did Atkins, I hit a period right about 4 weeks in when I was sooooo sleepy. I felt like someone had sucked the marrow right out of my bones. I needed a nap EVERY afternoon, which was sort of bad for my students, lol.
It went away in about 2 weeks. I think I upped my fat slightly, that's all.Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05
218/187/140
Measuring every 2 weeks
As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!

Minimum 45 min cardio per day

That is about when it started happening to me. I will have to kind of adjust my diet around to see if that helps.Originally posted by FinellyThe first time I did Atkins, I hit a period right about 4 weeks in when I was sooooo sleepy.
