    What can I order for beverage in a restaurant? Milk is carb-heavy. I've been ordering cranberry juice, but it's in col. 3 of the AGR. I definitely want a change from water. What can I order (that a restaurant would have)?

    Here you go.

    Acceptable Beverages
    Be sure to drink a minimum of eight eight-ounce glasses of water each day, including:

    Filtered water
    Mineral water
    Spring water
    Tap water
    Additionally, you can have the following:

    Clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label)
    Club soda
    Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carbohydrate content)
    Decaffeinated coffee or tea*
    Diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda); be sure to count the carbs
    Essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories" and should not contain aspartame)
    Herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added)
    Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three tablespoons
    If you are in OWL and beyond, you can add a glass of wine or beer if you want.

      Hi Pete,

      Are you doing induction, extended induction, somewhere in OWL (ongoing weight loss)?

      Sugar free Davinci or Torani syrups are good for an occasional italian soda or coffee drink. Overall, water, water, water is best for you! If you haven't adapted to that yet, drink more water and you will. Sometimes it is an acquired taste for those of us who previously didn't drink enough of it.

        I sometimes squeeze lemon in my water and a packet of sweet and low and I got lemonade!

          I usually order a sparkling water with a slice of lemon or lime and loads of ice.
          Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            Yeah, the same, sparlking water, only no ice, if its too cold I can't drink it.

                I usually order herb tea....it's my favorite
                but then again, I'm always cold in restaurants.

                  VERY occasionally (maybe 2 times so far in this time on the woe) I will order a diet soda.

                  Otherwise, I stick to decaf iced tea or water with a twist.
